how to empty the server

Did somebody really asked for this map to be back or was it a random choice.

It came on I left [can not stand it] but when I came back 20mins or so later there wasn't anybody left on the server it had emptied.

Coincidence I think not, this map is so poor, please remove it again.

I will look at the rotation. We still have a bug I am working on first.

Yes, the map was WetWork. We had just completed the "Bloc" and were wondering what the next map in the rotation was and WetWork popped up.

I thought the maps went in rotation alphabetically?

Re: how to empty the server

Wet work was always a fair symmetrical map. Straight forwards, action goes fast, and it's over.

Wet work is no worse than some other maps in the rotation. I like District and we never see that map. It's always the same couple maps over and over because of the resets I think. For example we play crash like 50 times a night...

Don't take this the wrong way, but what's more important to you, the map you play on, or getting to play with your TG friends? I hate Showdown, but I never leave or go find another server if it comes up. I'd rather play through it. You have to take the good with the bad. It's part of being a team player.

No one is happy with every map, but at least with Wetwork, you have a reasonably well balanced layout.

Re: how to empty the server

Well for me there are 2 maps I just dont play I have no interest in one is Wetwork and the other is......... Show Down

Both to me are dull and not very tactical much more of a spray and pray suited map.

PD if you read my header it says empty so team player and buddies are not an issue I think.
If Wetwork is not liked by many [assumption] then what's the point in having it in the rotation.
I know we have issues that Bubba + crew are working on and if the rotation gets a bit crocked then I understand.
I'll still use those map times to make coffee, check my fluid outlet, sqeeze the House General [wife] etc

Team player has nothing to do with map choice IMO.

Re: how to empty the server

i used to hate Wet Work...but now it is not too bad at all..Showdown is better suited to Headquarters than S7D because it is so small, but stil can be fun especailly with RPG's! hahahaha

c'mon and play Barnaby!!

It really comes down to working with your team that makes a map tactical or not. I think you can work all the maps in a tactical fashion, but you have to have a plan and folks have to be willing to work together. The players make the tactics, not the map.

The server wouldn't empty or lose players when an unpopular map comes up if folks were more interested in tactics and team play than map selection. The fact is that there are always going to be maps in the rotation that folks don't like. By bailing on the map, you're never going to figure out how play it smart and maybe actually enjoy it. So, if you or others ditch your team to wait out a map, it's you who are causing the server to lose players.

That said, you're entitled to your opinion, but you hurt yourself in the long run if don't stay focused on why we play on the TG servers together.

If we took every map that people crowed about out of the rotation, we'd be playing on a blank screen. I think the better strat is to figure a way to work with your team and make each map as hard on the other team as possible.

Re: how to empty the server

My vote is don't take any maps out of the rotation. Diversity is good. Especially for the players who may play the servers a lot.

Re: how to empty the server

All fair points made above.

Remember though that I have reached my conclusion after playing these maps multiple times and have just fallen out of fun with them.

I've tried hiding in unusual places, laying down in a corner, staying at spawn and setting up traps etc etc.
These 2 maps are so small and linear that I think I have witnessed most tactical approaches they just don't interest me any more so as I say they're the ones I chow down on.

In passing I'm on the server most nights often the one seeding it because of the time lag, we lead you gents by a good few hours, so I think I'm quite active at encouraging play.

Re: how to empty the server

Barnaby, I am amazed almost every time i play that map, that someone has found a different place to kill me from..

hell on the offense side, next to the first "mast" there where the cranes are, I did not even know that you can jump up on top of the containers there and run around all over the place on top of containers!

i got worked a couple times in a row before i noticed where that punk..er..i mean guy was shooting me from! hahaha
