2142 Irregs check in!

Going mental? Find the posts boring/sad/inane? Well, I can't help ya with that, this is the Irregs after all. What I CAN do is tell you some news you can use...

By a strange twist of fate, both our Platoon Sergeants for the 2142 Irregulars have been put on inactive status. Sgt. Fetterman went to his doctor to get his hand fixed, and the doctor BROKE it, put him in a cast and then charged him an arm and a leg! (pause for laughs and applause)
*scattered claps*
...I would start looking for a new doctor if I were you, Fetterman. (pause)
*single cricket chirping*
Doesn't he know? If it ain't fixed, don't broke it! *cricket stops* Ah... ha ha...yeah

...he charged him an ARM and a LE--oh, th' hell with it. Guess I'll try the Salty Dog act...

Birdman's had to keelhaul his 'puter an' is blamin' it all on someone 'e calls Macinsoft, or Microtaffer, or some blarsted suchlike. I tells 'im mebbe 'is winch is missin' th' capstan? Oh no, 'e says, the power surply be fine, says he. Methinks it be in need 'o new riggin' and a proper shipwright, but he's keen on fixin' it hisself--wit' a musket. I ain't so sure 'is compass points 'true north' so ter speak, but he 'sists the musket'll do, as soon's he finds th' jack tar what sold 'im that 'ar 'puter.

Needless to say, the 2142 Platoons are in need of leadership. It has been decided that you, the 2142 Irregulars, will be casting votes to see who has the unsavory task of leading you pack of wench's whelps and bilge-rat scum.

The first step in this historic event will be registration.

You will state your interest in remaining in the 2142 Irregulars, and thus taking part in the voting process, by posting a simple reply below.

If you can't be bothered to participate in the level of involvement required for this process, then you won't need to go with the Irregulars any further. This is the future everyone--when it's time to suit up and boot up, you need to be ready to get it and bring it! If you do, suddenly the Irregs will become a real force to be reckoned with, and you will be having more fun and kicking more butt than ever.

So sign in simply, and leave it at that. If you are not on the 2142 roster (wiki link in my sig), DO NOT sign in. This is not a recruitment thread. Recruitment may take place if, through a lack of participation, current members are dropped from the roster. A new thread announcing vacancies will be made. Check here often, and try to behave as though you wear the skull n' spade already.

Any discussion or comments should be made in new posts in the Irregs forum. Unnecessary chatter will be deleted from this thread! Next steps for the nomination and voting process will be posted as we work out the details. As usual, we have to balance "Let's get it done" and "Let's make sure this works" with a good helping of time and effort, which we have little of. We're Irregulars, after all.

Just goes to show that Axis hasn't a clue about computers, I've got a .75 caliber hole in my motherboard and its running better than ever!

Too bad the monitor was on the other side...

All right guys! I need to stress HOW IMPORTANT it is for you guys to check in here if you want to stay in the 2142 platoons. The check-in here will be used for both communications regarding the Platoon Leader election as well as updating the 2142 roster. If you do not check-in in this thread, there is a LARGE POSSIBILITY of you being DROPPED FROM THE ROSTER!!!

The arbitrary deadline for check-in will be next Wednesday, April 16, so we can get this ball rolling.

Please tell your fellow Future Pirates to check in here if you see them in game. If you have any questions about the check-in, please contact me through PM.

Bump, since we will be closing check-in tomorrow. If you do not check-in by Wednesday, you will not be included in the Platoon Leader nomination/election process and are at high risk of being removed from the platoon roster!

Aaaah, not much time left! I have just got back into playing 2142 (started again yesterday), so I guess I should post here. I don't play 2142 very... regularly (get it?) though.
