Patch 1.50 News

Looks like we're getting some more good news:

Quote:
Wake Island 2142 also holds a little twist to the way Conquest game mode is usually played so watch out for that.
So glad things worked out with this map and how its played. Really is going to bring something fresh and new to the gameplay!

Yeah, I'm excited to see how they implement widescreen support. Have to make another new shortcut, but this one will be like the default, lol!

Minsk with no vehicles!!! Was this what Rage has been hinting at every time someone complains about it?

That can be an overwhelming amount of fun. The 3rd played this in BFCL vs the 9th, and was definitely a crazy round. Really cool firefights in the trees and long distance rocketing.

Re: Patch 1.50 News

I'm excited about the infantry only option (does not remove FAVs I believe) on some maps. I think maps like 32p Suez Canal and Verdun as well as Sidi Power Plant would be a totally different (positive) experience.

I pictured it being used on, say, Belgrade, but Suez and Power Plant are... a little big... If FAVs are still in, the size of the maps would likely end up being 'musical flags', people just whizzing from flag to flag.

Suez Canal is a fairly linear map and the distance between the flags isn't as big as you might think. The FAVs would detract from play if you ask me. Go on foot, plan your attack and flanking maneuvers and then implement.

16p Sidi is acually a blast to play as an infantry only map. True you'll run through your sprint a few times before getting to your first flag, but from there on out there is usually a ton of action, especially around the center most CP and two surrounding CPs. Just think of the long run as extra incentive to keep your CPs and take theirs.

And do you know what stops people fro whizzing from flag to flag? (rhetorical question) Defenders. If your team doesn't defend CPs, they aren't playing as a team.

Re: Patch 1.50 News

So what happens to the most recent map, Highway Tampa?

Does anything really change with the aircraft?
