Not letting me play multiplayer...

This is my problem. It will let me start up CoD4 single player just dandy, but when i try Multiplayer, it won't start up and when i try again, it says something like "found problem running last time, would you like to run in safe mode? [YES] [NO]"

hitting no would start it up normally, but hitting yes will start it up with the default settings and then see it should start up

make sure it's not blocked in a firewall.

If it can't connect to the net, it just hangs up on the splash screen

Hit yes, never ever hit no. I did by accident once and it took me along time to get it back to regular mode. I actually had to crash my game again just to make it work.

When I hit no it always started back up just fine.

My work laptop says to hit "yes" "no" or "cancel" and I always select "no".

I always hit no especially since I copied everything over to a new OS. Hitting no takes me straight to the game with all my previous settings.

but yeah, check the firewall thing. I have mine allowed in the firewall... also if you have a router make sure that port 28960 is forwarded.

Are you using Vista? May want to run it as an administrator if so.
