Is it just me

or does everything seem a bit ramped up lately? I took about a two month hiatus and came back to EA master server dumps that occur from my experience mostly when I'm squad leading.

I've played this game enough that certain things feel second nature. But little things don't work the same as before. One thing I've noticed is how quick the sentry guns seem to light me up and I know it wasn't like that before. I died three times in a round yesterday to the same sentry gun because I was the only one on a balcony trying to destroy it and it was in a far corner lighting me up as soon as I came up onto the balcony and it was a far shot. IMHO they shouldn't be that powerful.

The other thing I've noticed is this and it's a bit harder to explain. This could simply be a sound issue but it seems I'm not getting the usual sound associated with getting hit with a volley of shots but rather I get hit and it's almost like it was a sniper head shot. Happening a lot I noticed from VOSS users. Also, I've been getting eaten up by the ganz, which never happened previously. Now I find myself looking up at what killed me and having this feeling of shock when I see so-and-so killed Modkaman [Ganz].

Then there's the amazing invisible APM's....don't even get me started on the RDX. I could write some of these off too being rusty but I even got blown up by an APM facing away from me yesterday.

Any thoughts or am I just dreaming all of this up?

Maybe you've just been away too long. I vowed never to reinstall 2142 until DICE recalled me to restart production on Wake 2142. Now, I've played so much that I can sense the enemy around the corner. Sentry Drones? More like.. GAY DRONES! hahah... Hmmm, that fell flat.

Just give it about 20 rounds and you'll be back in the swing of things.

Don't know about the sound issue, though.

Since the Ganz doesn't seem to appeal to newer players to the game maybe with the new patch and maps news some vets have been playing again. The Ganz is a deadly weapon in the hands of someone who knows how to use it.

I know from personal experience when I first unlocked it I hated the Ganz due to the sight. After playing close to a year I went back and reevaluated it and all of a sudden I loved it. It's now my weapon of preference when I'm allowed.

Eh, I think you caught my curse or something, I've been having problems with Sentry Guns ever since the patch. They seem to utterly dominate me everytime I run into one, actually even when I don't run into one! But, 2142 made me sad so I am rarely going to play it until 1.5 is released. Battlefield 2142 effing hates me, it drops me from the EA master server like twenty times an hour! And then decides to crash

Eh, it's just a bad couple of rounds Mod. Everyone has those.
Regarding the master server, that concern may be legitimate. I haven't played two rounds in a row today without being dropped from the master server. Granted, I am using a different connection and I get a ping of over 90ish, but I still hold this a tad suspicious.

Everyone has been having EA Master server disconnect issues since the 1.5 beta was announced. Strange coincidence. I remember there being talk that sentry guns were going to be improved in the 1.4 patch as was the recoil of the Ganz. Maybe with the recoil being modified more people are using it? I hope the 1.5 is released soon so that the EA Master can stop dropping me (probably too simplistic of a reason for the drop, I know). BTW, when I am dropped by the Master server and click to log back in I get a message that says my password does not go with the account I am trying to use to log in. I have changed nothing and my password is still there. Anyone else get this message?

I'm still getting those disconnects too. The most important thing Dice/Ea can fix in this patch for me is disconnects and server stability! I hate playing and being awesome and PFOOOF server crashes.

I get the same issue, but its because I usually was talking on TS or something and it entered another character into my saved password. Perhaps this is what you are doing?

I confirm the above statement, it's another character that accidentaly entered into the password field (cursor position defaults to the password field)

Yeah, or when you've got the top squad and life is beautiful... then you lose your squad to an EA crash

i feel the same way Mod, its feels like i am getting killed quicker and easier than ever. I get disconnected at least once a round and my game crashes at least twice a day. Fed up isnt the word already, and i still can get Northern Strike to work. BAH
