CHECK OUT THIS BS
Disclaimer..... If you or any member of your household work for Comcast, The DOJ, the FCC or McDonalds, DO NOT continue reading. ok, I got a letter in the mail today from comcast, my ISP.... It seems that I have gone over my acceptable use for the month of September. When I called to ask what my limit was as I never recalled seeing this, I was told that there was no limit....... So I asked why I would recieve a letter.... they said that their customers are graded on a curve and that if everyone around me was using x amount of bandwidth, that I would be constrained to this amount as well........ Being as how I live in a community that is mostly elderly individuals, I would assume that my limit is extremely low. I asked how I was expected to stay under a limit that I had no control over and had no way to judge, and no way to gauge even from month to month and they said there was nothing they could do..... They could not tell me what "acceptable use" constituted, but told me that I was expected to adhere to it. If I continued to exceed this invisible and incomprehensible limit, I would be disconnected.... (if this is all you are going to do....... It's on.) So here is my solution...... I am going to download 24/7 365 and just delete it... I am going to tear up the bandwidth until they turn the thing off... Im moving in a few weeks anyway, so the account will be null soon.... SOOOOOOO>>>>>>> Come and get me Comcast..... hope I kill the bandwidth for the whole STATE......... Jerks... P.S. If anyone here works for comcast.... no offense.... If anyone here thinks I am Wrong... I don't care. DSL never sent me a letter and I did the EXACT same thing for 1.5 years with them, Cable can kiss my @$$!!!!!! BTW, Dragon.... heads up. |

OOh man thats that stupid bull**** bandwidth limitation that Crapcast is doing now. I dont get it, they just increased our speeds from 1.5 megs to 3.5 megs and now they're going to pull this ****? Whats the f&%^ing point of downloading faster when we're limited to how much a month?
See this is why I was and still am against the AT&T\Comcast take over (Comcast bought ATTBI, they didnt "merge" as they said they did), but nooooo James is just being paranoid... well I hate to tell you I told you so, but I TOLD YOU SO! EDIT: DdogG, dude, could you scan the letter and post it? Or email it to me. I want to read it if you dont mind, because I know for a fact that I will be getting one. |

Yeah, I heard that they were going to send letters out to the 1% or somesuch. I was pretty sure I'd get one but, lo, I did not.
Then again I live in Seattle where everyone and their Gramma has broadband. In fact my neighbor has (no joke) 1.2 TERAbytes on our bridged WiFi network... He didn't get a letter either. I've had it with Comcast. My take is that this is just another scare tactic similar to the one they used on me to try to get me to purchace another IP since I have a NAT router. Feh... I told them to bugger off. Sad thing is that I can't get any other type of broadband here. well ok i CAN get 128kbps DSL for $60/month, but only that because, even though I live less than 500 meters from the nearest station, Qwest (the other Satan) has multiplexed the lines here. If I could get Speakeasy (like I threatened to) I would... |
