Well, just picked up (well downloaded off of steam) Supreme Commander 2. If you have steam, there is a demo on it to give it a shot, but I find that doesnt do the game justice.

If you haven't really followed the series, mostly the game is based on very large maps, and to assist you with that, you have the ability to zoom out a very long distance (like looking at the mini map, but more control. The game play also can involve very (and i mean very) large army's. But for them to be effective, you still need combined arms. The biggest baddest tanks can be destroyed by one bomber/gunship.

In team match's, team work makes a very large difference. One person not working with the team can mean the diffrence from victory or defeat.

Anyone else have this?

Sadly, my comp can't handle SC2. A shame since I enjoyed the scale of the first game. New games are starting to leave me behind and I don't have the ability to upgrade (darn laptop!). Another thing that is worth mentioning about the SC series is that the goal isn't to destroy the enemies base, but to take out the opposing Command Unit. This adds a nice twist on the tactical side of things.

I had FA, is it a big improvement over that?

Supreme Commander 2 and DLC for < $10 on STEAM right now.

For a whopping $8.50 I figured, 'what the heck.'

I own this, though it's pretty rough online for new players. Let me know if you want to play a round.
