Well, I don't know if its a theater wide promotion, but I know that the Theater that I'll be viewing this is is doing a special screening of The Fellowship and Two Towers the day before ROTK comes out, with the midnight showing. So about 14 straight hours of Tolken. I'm training my butt to sit that long

The g/f works at the theater so she's getting us tickets to the marathon. I'm just glad they finally made a movie that doesn't destroy the work of the author. I read this on my family vacation four years in a row and it kept getting better each time. Now if the same crew would do the "Hobbit", in the same size and scale, I would be a very happy man.

I don't think Peter Jackson will comment one way or another on that though.

They actually filmed "The Hobbit" the same time as the Trilogy, and will release it as a suprise next Christmas, with like 2 weeks pre-notice.
