The Big Dance

It’s time for the Big One!!!! MillionManLan 4, held June 23-26, continues Lanwar’s long tradition of kick a$$ parties. Last year, MML3 broke the 1,250 gamer mark with 1,263 BYOC gamers in attendance and over 150 spectators.



As always MML will be once again hosting official tourneys. Tourneys are announced each week. Each PC tournament will be held in The Official MML Game Arena, consisting of 24 custom built high-end computers!!! Last year MML awarded over $25,000 in cash and prizes. MML’s network consists of a Cisco Gigabit backbone with 100mb edge switches to provide each gamer with a high-speed low lag experience.



MML is powered by Lanwar’s staff, who has hosted 26 parties over the past seven years for a grand total of 11,351 butts in seats! Tourneys, tourney limits, rules, and additional information will be announced each week and are subject to change.



The Registration

Registration will open on Wednesday, April 6th, 2005 at 10pm EST. As always, you will be able to pick your seat and pay. Get your family and friends and be ready to get your seats together. Seats will go fast so don’t wait; coordinate your groups now in order to sit together. Yes we will have gray seating available for entire teams to move into as we do at our regular events, but as you know, if you wait too long to request your move, those seats will be gone too. There are a lot of groups coming.



The Pricing

Like last year, there will be two types of passes to choose from:



1 Day Pass = $30

Anytime Pass = $50



So what does this mean for you? The one day pass is pretty obvious; it is good for a single given day that you choose at the time you register. The anytime pass is good for all four days, or two or three days.



Also, something new for this event is the sleeping area for $10. We will have a designated area for sleeping. Like last year you are not allowed to sleep in the aisles, walkways, etc. Fire Marshall says absolutely NO. So what we have done for this year, is to rent a bigger hall so we will be able to have an area set up in the hall where you can sleep and yes bring your mattresses or cot so you won’t have to sleep on the concrete. Bring your blankets as it does get cold. No tents allowed.

I'm going to travel on June 24 and arrive in Louisville on the afternoon/evening of the 24th. I'll attend this thing on June 25th and then travel home after lunch in Louisville on the 26th.

Are you coming alone or what? We will have a few people coming from the Chattanooga TN area. Not sure how many just yet. Usually over a half dozen. I can think of 6 right now smatter fact.
We always get a group of good seats on the edge/corner. We'll be getting together in a friend's TS Wednesday night at ten to pounce and crash their server again. hehe. Anybody going alone or in a small group is welcome to get in close to us. We should at least know where others are if their across the room. (BIG room, bigger than the one for 1-3)

I know Sniper plans on coming with me. No hard commitment yet, but he'll likely come. Beyond that, I'm alone so far.

I'd love to come but my wife would shoot me. Not only for spending the measly $50 to get in, but the cost it would take to get there and the opportunity cost of lost time from work.... I'd be a dead Mito when I got home....

The hall is different than the last two years so I'm not sure where we want to be.

I'm thinking top right of section 2 or top left of section 1. Not on the projector but not too far away... not at the food... kinda wondering about that triangle without tables.

As for what to do, hop in TS with us if possible tomorrow night. We usually have several people getting a seat and reserving two others. They don't let us keep em long but it helps if you can't be Johnny-on-the-spot when we all choke the pipe at registration time.
You'll need to register on the MML site, secure a seat, pay, then try to trade if your not where you want to be.

After that just show up with your stuff and game. There'll be all kinds of stuff going on 24 hours a day. Tourneys, tons of files to leech, tons of listen servers running about anything you could want to play. Cisco network w/ gigabit backbone and 100Mb/s connections at your box. Awesome performance, great fun.

Anyways, I'm considering going, but I'd have to take off class for a few days and Cisco III and IV are the toughest. Plus, I'm not very competative. Although the idea of a 32 player Invasion server is tempting.

Haven't actually counted but there are only 5 (7 a few minutes ago) of the green seats left without a name them. There are some of the gray seats and all of the expansion seats open. I suspect we're already rubbin up against 1500 gamers... in 45.5 hours.

Is it too late to sign up? Since I"m so late would I have to sit with strangers? Are you guys going as a clan that I"m not aware of? Anybody splitting hotel rooms? Even though its only three days, a solid nights sleep would be nice.

Guys and Gals,
I've reserved a room at the Sleep Inn, right across the street from the Convention Center, within walking distance. Free continental breakfast, local calls and cable TV. It will provide a nice place to unplug for a while.

The room has two double beds. If anybody wants to split it, speak now. We could probably fit a total of 3 or 4 people in there. I've got it from Thursday night until Sunday morning.
