PC Problem...Auto-rebooting.

I have never had any problems with this machine. The PS is about 3 years old. I think maybe its going out..What do you guys think?

When's the last time you had the case open and cleaned all the dust out? Including the PS?

Today I added a wireless net card, and blew out all the dust from the case and PS

And the random reboots started after you added the card? Could indeed be the PS not being able to supply enough juice for the additional circuitry. A new PS for a 3 yr old comp should be cheap enough. I'd replace it and see...

Sounds sort of dumb but just check that when you go to shut down computer (if you use the start menu) that the option is to "shut down" and not "restart"...............similar problem when I was messing around with my computer but it was the one thing I didn't "look" at when shutting down the pc...................no idea why it had changed from shutdown to restart...but it had??!!

It could be the transmorgifier, as well...

Doubtful, as that would be very regular. If it didn't reboot within 10-30 seconds after loading the drivers, then it wouldn't reboot at all....

I still think he might want to switch out his transmorgifier...

I'd go with what Cing says. Classic transmorgifier error symptoms.

See... The network card was probably trying to share an IRQ with the transmorgifier...
