9800pro Toasted?
So,
I got home last night, fired up the rig, and didn't get any video signal. Pissed off, I left to get a sixer of Old Style so that I could clearly think out the problem. Turns out, my video card is not working. Sapphire 9800pro with an Artic Cooling VGA Silencer revision 3. Linked here : So, checked Sapphire's forums. Multiple posts about dead 9800 pro cards using the same cooler. Damn. So, now I want to reinstall the original HSF before I send it back. However, I do not have any of those pins that where originally used to mount the HSF to the core. The ones that you push through the HSF and the card, and expand a bit once completely through. Does anybody know the name of these little guys? Does anybody know where I can buy some? I'm really really bummed out about this card.....was supposed to last until my next major upgrade Any help would be great. |

They're called push pins. If push came to shove (no pun intented), you could always just buy a cheap cooler and scavange the pins off of it.
