Counter-Strike Game Officer Announced!

It’s been a long time in the decision making process, but we are pleased to announce the appointment of Root to the Counter-Strike Source Game Officer position!

Root has been with us since the launch of our Source server and during that time has shown an exemplary understanding of our style of play and overall guiding philosophy. Being able to understand the core values of our Professional Counter-Strike (PCS) standard is not always easy. PCS can seem both liberating and restrictive at the same time, and the key to understanding what you should do and when you should do it always boils down to being focused on your objectives. Root has demonstrated his capacity at understanding and managing these complexities and putting PCS and the overall health of the server before personal popularity.

I would like all of you to assist me in supporting Root as he refines and shapes our Counter-Strike servers in the weeks to come. For old and new players alike, Root is the ideal candidate to bring back the true spirit of PCS of a reincarnated game with the new Source engine.

FROM THE TACTICAL GAMER PRIMER. 3) Support game play in a near-simulation environment. Where the focus of play would not be solely on doing what it takes to win, but doing so utilizing real-world combat strategy and tactics rather than leveraging exploits provided to players by the design of the game engine.
