Commander Newbie Question

I had a question on how the Commander carries out Artillery Strikes, Supply Drops and UAV.?.

If a squad leader calls for Artillery or Supplies, does the commander have to go to that particular location, point the crosshairs and call it in?

and/or

Is there a guide on this that goes through this process out there?

Thanks!

When one of those items are called in, the commander will get an icon for that specific event on their map with a big yellow circle around the area. The commander can then click on the icon and select "Approve" or "Deny" for the individual request.

I'm actually already collecting screenshots to write up a guide for commanders.

Excellent!

I'd also recommend for players to load up the game in single player mode and try out the commander and squad leader roles.

Where the focus of play would not be solely on doing what it takes to win, but doing so utilizing real-world combat strategy and tactics rather than leveraging exploits provided to players by the design of the game engine, regardless of the level of advantage, if any, it gives over the opposing team." -- Tactical Gamer Primer

Yes I am also looking forward to this guide. I have not yet tried my hand at Command, because my play time has been limited (stupid real world!!) I am interested in what light you can shed on it.
