TG Server Update to Retail Schedule?

Maybe this was already discussed, but I couldn't find it in my searching...

What is the schedule for update to retail for the TG server?

Probably as soon as Apophis gets his hands on a copy of BF2

Re: TG Server Update to Retail Schedule?

From Day 1, TG will be hosting a retail server.

OMG yes. BF2 is very frustrating with the current player base.

Re: TG Server Update to Retail Schedule?

The "retail" version server files for linux and win32 are currently available for download at the BF2 site. We could have had a server running on the 17th. But of course no one to play on it.

Re: TG Server Update to Retail Schedule?

I already have the BF2 retail server installed and configured. Just waiting for the actual retail release of the game to bring it online. I would expect to see the shift from demo to retail on the actual release/delivery date for BF2.

Is the release date still the 22nd?

We'll see if it comes true or not but supposedly GameStop will have BF2 one day earlier. If that is true, some will have it tomorrow. The demo screen says 6/22 so it probably depends on where you get it from.

I assume the IP will stay the same as the demo?

Re: TG Server Update to Retail Schedule?

You can always assume the IP will be posted in the BF2 announcements forum, which, as our new friend, I'll ask that you be sure to read and be familiar with.

Re: TG Server Update to Retail Schedule?

Here's what we're going to do for the Demo/Retail conversion...

I have set up a SECOND BF2 Demo server on a new IP address. At some point today we will be shifting the currently listed Battlefield 2 Demo server over to retail and the newly added Demo server will remain online for another week.

This should allow those who have not pre-ordered or those overseas to still enjoy playing with other Tactical Gamer members on the Demo server while providing the full retail server for those lucky bastards who got it already.

I'm 100 miles from home right now at a client site doing a security audit, so I have no idea what the deal is with my local vendors and their stockpiles of BF2. Hopefully I'll be able to find someplace that has it on the way home and pick it up.

Re: TG Server Update to Retail Schedule?

You'll need the retail client for testing certainly. However, the server files, both linux and win32 are available from the official BF2 site.

Oops, I already said that.
