renderer.drawFps does not show avg fps?

I've been googling trying to figure out exactly what the second number represents when you use the renderer.drawFps 1 command. Everyone insists that the first number is the current framerate (which I agree with) and the second number is the average framerate (which I disagree with). Right now my drawFps shows: 58.4/18.4. The lowest I've seen the current framerate go is 56fps. So, the second number can't be avg fps. Has anyone been able to find further info on this? The only thing I can come up with is it represents the number of dropped frames....??

If I look at the sky my fps shoots up to 95fps and the second number goes down to 10. If I look at a complex object like a helo my fps goes down to 54fps and the second number goes up to 19.3.

I was wondering about this too. You're right, the second number can't be just the average. It sounds like it could be the frame period in ms, although that would be kind of pointless.
