July 2nd's Saturday night game aftermath
Hey guys,
Just though i'd post about tonight's game... well its 2am east and i had to bail, but had the BEST TIME on the server tonight. IT was simply awesome! Lots and lots and lots of teamwork, lots of killing and some damn good fun all around! It was my first time as SL on this server, hope i didn't disapoint. Kind of hard doing this job and flying the 'Hawk at the same time... but we tore everything apart, which was completly crazy and awesome! I hope my mic works better; for the first part of the evening, no one could hear me... looks like i could fix it after a while tho. Was my first time as a pilot in such an important squad, and you guys really shinned tonight! THanks everyone for such a great experience... now i gotta wake up in 4 hours... so yeah.... humm... later ![]() Redoak Out. |

Was a good time until I got disconnected around 11:30. Sorry about that, Roughneck squad.
We were doing exceptionally well that round too which makes it doubly painful. But man, we had some fun toolin around on FuShe Pass in our little convoy of APC's and Tanks (and trying to dodge air strikes). ![]() |

Those passworded games were incredible! I got on shortly after 8pm, there weren't many people. 1 hour later there were a LOT. I bailed about 11pm because I was up till 2am the previous 2 nights, I had to get some sleep
![]() Finally got to play with Tarpan, man that was a complete blast! Last night was the most fun I have had yet in this game! ![]() |

I was finally able to play with Tarpan, as well. Unfortunately, I had to leave before we could even finish a map. I had an excellent time, Tarp. Hope to find your squad not full some time again!

Was an outstanding job Red... Bravo Zulu! That was the most fun I've had yet in the game. I liked the 5 attempted helo assualts on that middle base in Clean Sweep with Clanless killing us each time before finally saying "Ahhh, lets try on foot!". Great fun! Re: July 2nd's Saturday night game aftermath
The most memorable moment for me last night was on Dragon Valley. The game had just started, and my squad had been moving a bare 5sec when artillery got dropped on us. We at a rear base, and I hadn't even done anything yet!
My squad caught probably 80% of the enemy artillery strikes that night. Kudos to everyone who held that middle flag on the Dam map, that was some of the heaviest fighting I've seen yet. |

RedOak. You and your convoy of APC's were a thorn in my squads side on that Dragon Map lastnight. I was in that chinese Attack Chopper that kept trying to kill you when u kept taking over the flags near our airbase
![]() Your name was being associated with quite a few expletives. Heh my Gunner and I both cheered when we finally shot you out of that Helo ![]() |

Excellent job piloting that helicopter last night, Cymba! That was some slick flying on your part. I just have to get more used to using the TV-guided missiles... damn things are hard to maneuver.
Out of curiousity, what were you flying with? A joystick, mouse, or gamepad? This question extends to all pilots (jets and helicopters alike). |

Re: July 2nd's Saturday night game aftermath
Joystick -- ONLY WAY TO FLY!
I'm using an old Logitech Wingman Extreme, but it works well enough for both Jets and helicopters. I'm thinking of upgrading to a Saitek stick/throttle combo so I can use the thumb-pointer to stand in for the mouselook feature... Anyone doing that? I found it was a lot tougher to put my door gunners into the right positions with the Chinese transport than with the Blackhawk... Mostly that is due to the minigun having a much larger range of motion than the Chinese Door guns! Darn western technology! The question I had was how many helicopter crews were chatting with VoIP or were you just flying to put the gunner into the best postion possible to shoot?? I've crewed a few times with another player in the same room and been pretty effective, but the VoIP comms seemed to not be reliable enough to direct gunners... comments?? Awesome game last night, I just regret having to bail early! |

Re: July 2nd's Saturday night game aftermath
Agreed - I said in another thread that last nite's pw games were some of the best 'gameplay' I've seen yet. I'm sick of artillery strike after artillery strike though. That CO had it in for us, for sure. It felt like Band of Brothers in Bastogne after a while. People running for cover, ragdolling bodies flying everywhere...
![]() And RedOak your Blackhawk squad had 544 points after one game. That was a particularly (un)fun one for the MEC team... ![]() And thanks Tarpan for the great SLing. It's amazing how focused and effective a squad can be when all the elements fall into place, especially having a great SL. Looking forward to more play today/tonite... |
