To the BlackHawk Squad on Mashtuur City Map

I'd like to thank all members of my blackhawk squad on Mashtuur City map around 8pm EST. A full blackhawk with a good squad is a nearly unstopable force and we really helped control that map. Right before I lost connection we had a prolonged firefight at the south flag with multiple APCs and 12 or so infrantry that that we were dropping the hammer on. It was excellent work by the gunners, medic and engineers on the squad. We would have eventually had the flag too if the Hind didn't join the fray and finally blow us out of the sky.

Great job squad.

Re: To the BlackHawk Squad on Mashtuur City Map

I just finished a game on Mashtuur City as the leader of the Blackhawk squad. We had a net squad score of over 1050 points! I wish my screen shots would save or work. I took screen shots using the print screen thing but now I can't find them. I opened up the last one in paintshop but sadly it was of the Map Briefing for the next level. Anyone know where I can find where they're saved, if they're saved.

We had similar results lastnight with Hunedog flying on one of the city maps...I forget the map name but our squad score was 900 even. I hit the screen shot button but alas I have no screen shot. Pilot as medic, 2 engineers, 1 spec ops, 1 support to rearm the engineers who were throwing mines out the door. We would cap an empty flag with a quick hover then mine the crap out of it before moving on. Seemed pretty effective. We did blow ourselves up once, what a laugh.

Re: To the BlackHawk Squad on Mashtuur City Map

If you use the standard "print screen" method, and you only take one screenshot (next one will take the place of the first one in memory), you can then tab out of the game, and paste it into your favorite image editor (or Word or Paint if you're desperate). That's the only method I've found for screenshotting. But I haven't looked very hard, I admit.

YES, hunedog was an excellent pilot and unfortunately we did blow up on a mine once, that was pretty funny. next time we should get some SF to throw plastic out as well. That was great fun.

Thanks to the Blackhawk crew last night for letting me on and do my Engineering.
Despite getting stuck in the spot that doesn't always let me repair, hope I helped.

Getting auto-swapped to another squad was a letdown, but I did my part there as well. Gee, I hope it was an auto-swap...

I was in Phelan Ward's squad the night of the >1000 squad score. It was awesome!

My favorite part was when we were shot down by some rather crafty MEC players who hit us with at least two AT rockets at exactly the same time. No idea if that was planned or not but I think the fact we got such a response is a great testimony to how much of a problem we were being to the enemy.

Skill really had nothing to do with it. IT's the fact that DICE improperly allows an engineer to repair a helicopter in mid-flight at full speed. I feel it gives the US an unfair advantage.

Re: To the BlackHawk Squad on Mashtuur City Map

No, there is some skill involved. You wouldn't believe how far a .50 cal can shoot. And engineers aren't always alive to be fixing stuff. Tanks are annoying because they don't give you any lock on warning and they do a ton of damage.

I think the main reason my squads always do best in the BH, though, is because I'm ALWAYS calling out targets. As pilot, I am consantly telling my crew where the people are, which side I'm going to be pointing to it, whether their up high or down low, so on and so forth. Basically if my gunners are facing you, they allready know where you are and are about to unload on you.

The only one with skill is the pilot. And since you were the pilot, I'd give you the credit. Everyone else is just along for the ride.

BH doesn't have to worry about dead engineers. Most of the time, the Squad Leader is the pilot, and any dead engineers come right back after death thanks to the spawn-on-SL feature. With a decent pilot, the BH is a pretty no-contest, easy sure-win.

You can pick off the BH occupants all you want with a sniper, but chances are high they'll just respawn again 10 seconds later.

IMO, spawn-on-SL should not apply to any air vehicles. The wide range, and speed of aircraft allows them to go back to pick up squadmates should that be necessary. That would help balance it out a bit.

Tanks do not have lock-on warnings because they fire dummy rounds, without any target-seeking capability. They are also slow on the relaod time, and movement. The tank is well-balanced, and can only be repaired when someone's outside, fixing it - ie vulnerable. Unlike the Black Hawk which can bugger out of a bad situation WHILE being repaired. Not so with the tank.

Re: To the BlackHawk Squad on Mashtuur City Map

True Syn. If team mates could not spawn on their squad leader in a BH, this wouldn't be an issue. But since they can, this is an unfair advantage. And in my opinion, shamefull of the people who do it. It just goes to show me they have no skill so they take the easy road.

It may be, but the issue is, those two choppers don't have as good of weapons to take out infantry, and on many maps, they never get the option to have one. Only the US does.
