Hackers?
I dont know whats going on with this so called 'leaderboard', but i am noticing some really weird stuff going on in the top ranks. I saw a lance corporal in the top 25 players score wise. Is that even possible?
Also, i was in a ranked server earlier (32) and a player on the other team got 207 kills. NOT POINTS. KILLS. I think some people are seriously taking advantage of some sorta glitch or have found an easy way to cheat with friends etc. I just think it really takes the fun away for the rest of the players in the game. What are your thoughts on this cheating? Pudd9

Re: Hackers?
My thoughts? Avoid ranked servers at all cost. In most cases, the players are focused on doing whatever it takes to increase their rank rather than working with their team to play a good game.

Re: Hackers?
TK'ing doesn't count as a kill. You lose team points for that. All they do is get a couple of friends and join both sides. One kills, one revives and you get more points that way. They just exploit the system and EA can't do anything about it because they have to keep the servers "pure".

WOOHOOO!!! I'm RANKED #76,753 w/1,604pts!!!!!
![]() The top CHEATER has 33,058 POINTS!!! How long has this game been out? 21 days or so? LMFAO! Atleast we know what clans to avoid in a match. I always check the players scores before I join a server. If people have like 108kills and 3 deaths I just leave that one alone and find another server to join. 33,058 pts!!!

Re: Hackers?
It'd be fun to write a script to check the leaderboard every time somebody logs on to a TG BF2 server, an kickban them if they're above a certain threshold score.

Re: Hackers?
I'm sure there are some legitimate players who have simply put in the hours to make their scores. Although if you look closer at some of the specific stat breakdowns, you will notice a few serious discrepancies.
I must say, this is more the fault of sloppy ranked server requirements than the exploiters. I have a similar opinion of rank exploiters as I do of spammers. It's more the fault of the people who facilitate the exploits than the exploiters themselves. If people weren't dumb enough to fall for spam, then it wouldn't be worthwhile for the spammers. Likewise, if EA had half the sense for the betterment of the gaming experience as they did for making money, there simply wouldn't be as many smacktards around. Just look at how quickly changes are implemented on TG servers to encourage better gaming as an example. Quite simply, it is the responsibility of the administering body to make it harder to exploit the system. Plebs will be plebs and you can't seriously expect any great level of restraint. Give them loopholes and they will find them. Failing to plug the loopholes in good time is irresponsible to your community. Having said this, working for a variety of companies has taught me that ill-conceived, but high yield short term fiscal policy will usually win out over long-term interests. This is most likely the case at EA. Once the servers have been set up and paid for, making sure they were run to a certain standard would just add to their workload and eat into profits. The thing is, by the time people get tired of it, they will have released another game. All the same, playing on ranked servers is rarely a pleasant experience. Bunny-hoppers, spawn campers and loners everywhere. Utter chaos. Some of the local ranked servers here in Australia are quite well administered and I sometimes join them when the TG servers are unpopulated. Anyway, I hate sounding so negative, but it's business in the end and the goal is to make money, not friends. Despite all of this, TG offers some very welcome respite. |
