Connecting to IP Address

Does anyone know if its possible to get the singleplayer/LAN client for BF2 to connect to an IP-Address? We are having problems getting a couple of guys in the office to connect to our LAN server, they are in the DMZ and can't detect the server (usually for most games) but can usually connect and play the servers if the game lets them enter an IP address to connect to.

Anyone know if there is a console command or other way to do this?

Cheers,

Re: Connecting to IP Address

There's a "Connect to IP" button on the multiplayer server list screen... have you tried that?

I thought that was only in multiplayer we are trying to play on LAN which does not use multiplayer accounts only the confusingally named singleplayer/offline accounts...

Re: Connecting to IP Address

you have to go to the multiplater tab, and go connect to ip address and type in 192.168.0.2 etc...

*edit*
if that doesnt work try this:
on the shortcut on the desktop right click, properties
target line should be like this
{EXEPATH} +restart 1 +joinServer {ip} +port {port} [ +password "{PASSWORD}"]

the stuff in { } should be changed to the correct settings and the password part can be removed if no password. So if you want to connect to 192.168.0.4 it should be

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +restart 1 +joinServer 192.168.0.4 +port 16567

the quotes have to be in the right place. I am at work so i cannot test this out, but it shoud work in theory because this is how external server browsers connect you to the game.
