ANNOUNCEMENT: What to do if you have been banned

There are many circumstances that cause a ban and the most common one is when you are kicked / banned for TKing. In this particular situation, the ban lasts for one round (i.e map change).

The next thing to do is make sure you have not actually been kicked. Many people mistake a kick for a ban. Wait at least an hour and see if you still can't reconnect to the server and make sure the message you get indicates you have been banned and not kicked.

If you are still banned or have been banned for another reason, you can appeal your ban by posting in the Battlefield 2 - Contact an Admin forum. Your post should include six things:

1) Your in-game handle (including tags if you wear any)

2) The server from which you were banned (PR, PoE2, FH2, 2142)

3) Your CD HASH (NOT CD KEY). Download BF2 Key Hasher Here

4) What you did to get yourself banned, i.e. your side of the story.

5) Identify which # rule you violated. To do this, you will need to navigate the Official Rules, Announcements & SOPs forum, find the server rules and read them in their entirety. (This shows us you've actually read the rules.)

6) Explain: In you're opinion, why does TG have that rule? This will show us whether or not you understand the spirit of the rules, and that you may be ready to have your ban lifted.

To those who would complain about the need to download a program to be unbanned:

Battlefield2 handles most bans through the use of the md5-encrypted hash of your CD-key. In the system, your ban looks like 5745588be00e1a65a334f4a71d738106, which is complete nonsense to us (as it might be to you). Therefore, if you wish to get unbanned, we require you to tell us what this hash is, and this utility is probably the easiest way.

If you're feeling technical, you can compute the hash on your own without the program (algorithm description here). But please, make no mistake, we need this information if we're ever to clear your ban entry.
