Sat PW Game - Daqing Oilfields

I wanted to shout out to my squad from last night on Daqing Oilfields. I had these group of guys with me for several rounds. We held that northern center flag on Daqing for pretty much the whole round while under constant fire from armor and multiple squads.

The squad did very well and communicating, spreading out to cover our flank, using the kits effectively. I think we only lost the flag for a very short time because we pushed out too far and they snuck in. We quickly took it back and held it ever since.

I honestly couldn't tell you what was happening on the rest of the map because we never had a minutes rest.

Hats off to...

"Support game play in a near-simulation environment. Where the focus of play would not be solely on doing what it takes to win, but doing so utilizing real-world combat strategy and tactics rather than leveraging exploits provided to players by the design of the game engine, regardless of the level of advantage, if any, it gives over the opposing team." -- Tactical Gamer Primer

That was a lot of fun. I guess it was under their nose and they did not like it.

Re: Sat PW Game - Daqing Oilfields

Really enjoyed that round with you guys. We made effective use of the armor (when we could keep the enemy off it), and blew the bridge early in order to stall the advance.

Everyone kept up their roles very well. We made sure we kept mines along the access points in case we got flanked by armor. The times they got through we were able to converge and keep the situation from becoming disastrous.

Hats off.

yes, some great rounds with Ash as our SL. Oilfeilds was awesome, this north base usualy switched to china a few times per round. I knew this was going to be one of the best rounds, grats to my squadmates and our squaleader for holding this front base all round. Ash talked to us like we where one of his best squads, that was a medal of Honor right there, so everyone went to work to earn it.

BF2 the way it's meant to be played

I was in the squad attacking that point.... Very good defense gang!

Every time we brought up a tank or stole one of yours there were like instantaneous AT locks by 3 different guys.. I got my fair share of kills and capped the flag once on my own and once with a teammate. Never able to hold it for more than a minute tho. So many nooks and crannies in there for you guys to hide and kill us from.

Re: Sat PW Game - Daqing Oilfields

This is where it went wrong for the MEC. Our previous CO resigned as he was too tired (if you'd been one of his squads you'd understand why, the guy was full on for the entire game) after having been at the helm for a couple of hours. Our new CO was not as good unfortuantely, although did a much better job than I would have done for sure!

It was a little frustrating as my guys were doing a great job holding the centre point, and we fully intended to hang around for the whole game. Then we were ordered off of it, and kinda chased our tails around a lot. I didn't know the MEC air support was so good on Oman, but I did notice the USMC was a little light (from my perspective - other squads may have been bearing the brunt). Not so on Daqing however, as they were superb.

Oh, and good job to your squad on Oman - our squads had some decent fighting going on, was really good fun
