Why it is hard to find CO's
I played CO for the first time on Monday night on the 48 man server. Had a blast. Was able to direct my squads to recap all but one of the USMC flags and set defense at the only 2 river crossings left whiel directing a squad to deal with flankers and commanding a dedicated fighter pilot. Was a great time.
So I tried to recreate that great gaming experience Tuesday night. Got stuck with 1 squad communicating and trying to get things done. Both by following orders and making suggestions. After all they have better view of immediate surroundings than I do. But I had 4-5 other squads with ZERO communication doing whatever they wanted. Most of those squads only had 1 or 2 people playing in them. Unless they are a speciallized squad even 2-3 man squads are next to useless. That is when I realized this. As a grunt you are depending on a good SL and good squadmates to have a good time playing, so only relying on 5 guys MAX to have a great game. As a SL you have your squad and CO that can make the game great, so 6 people to have a great game. As a CO you need to rely on every other player on your team to make your game great. Sure you can have as long as the majority of your team is playing right but really you need 20+ people playing on a 32 player team to playing right for you to have fun. Which of course means MUCH harder to get a group of strangers togerther to have fun playing as a CO. So from now on I am going to try double hard to follow orders as a grunt and to communicate as much as possible as a SL. Not only will I have more fun but everyone will have more fun. |

Re: Why it is hard to find CO's
yeah, you really need to have your squad being receptive and following orders, I occationaly play CO but find it quite stressful but great fun all at the same time, I try to give the best orders I can and listen to what the squads needs. As a squad member I always follow orders nomatter what they are, the same with being a squadleader, afterall im sure the biggerpicture from the CO's view is alot differant from the small segment you can see on the battlefield and its important to respect that chain of command.
