Stuck in the 'mud'
Strange bug I am noticing.. while prone, and firing and in zoom, if I get up too fast, my character is apparently 'stuck' and crawls along at a snail pace. Its almost as if I am somehow stuck in zoom-mode, although my view is normal.. The only way out of this state is to jump and hit the zoom key while in mid air.. Then I can walk and run as normal.
Anyway there you go, not sure if anyone else has had this.. It was giving me hell last night.

Re: Stuck in the 'mud'
Do you get up while still zoomed? I don't recall this happening, though it easily coudl have, and in the heat of battle I just hit something that quickly made it go away so I don't remember...or I just died because I wasn't moving.

Re: Stuck in the 'mud'
I've had this happen a lot.
When it happens to me, it's usually because I was prone, and zoomed, then stood up. I just zoom out, prone again, and stand again. Works every time.

Yeah its something like that, but I do actually un-zoom before standing.. I think the problem is the un-zoom message is a not-reliable message (guess), so it may never get to the server during heavy combat/lag situations.. This makes sense somewhat as even though the server usually does not care if you are zoomed or not, it may need to know this to enforce run speed - otherwise a zoom/run-speed hack is very possible. Re: Stuck in the 'mud'
Yeah, it's happened to me a few times. Very annoying under fire.
A couple of our squad were unable to enter a buggy on Dalian last night as well. Perfectly empty buggy just sitting there. We must have lookes like a couple of apes out of 2000AD, standing there prodding at the buggy trying to get in. It's a wonder we didn't get blasted while we stood there in confusion. |

Re: Stuck in the 'mud'
I've noticed the same thing, but I was blaming it on Xfire or alt-tabbing out of the game. I'd get an IM on Xfire and respond to it mid-game, and afterwards I'd move at a snail's pace. Same thing if I happen to alt-tab out of the game for some reason. Never really noticed it otherwise. Now that I think about it, but having never paid attention, I'm always unzoomed when I stand up from being prone.
I just go prone and stand up again, always fixes it for me. |

Re: Stuck in the 'mud'
2 more things
if your firing the american standard sniper (forget its name) and hold the trigger after the shot in conjunction with moving your scope all reloading animations will lock and you can only hear the sounds. it offers no speed advantage or anything like that, but it shows how retarded ea is, and how lousy their testing was also, i've been blocked from exiting choppers as well. |
