Server Standards and Rules

Blantant is the word I can only use to describe the abuse and ignorance of our rules and standards.

I am aware of them simply because of how long I've played in TG.

But constantly, every day all day, I see people blatantly ignoring our rules. I'm not sure if this is because people do not know our rules, or because they just don't care, but I'm leaning more towards the ignorance of the rules.

People come into our servers all day long. People we've never met before, talked to before, or even played with before, and they do not have any idea what our rules are.

As far as the vulgarity goes, I think it should be limited to squad speak. If your squad doesn't mind you cussing like a sailor, then go for it, but if they do, then stop. Server wide cursing should be banned and not tolerated.

UCB attacking is becoming a problem. Not so much the UCB, but the non-UCB flags.

I just played the map where the MEC has 3 UCB's and the USMC has none. We were being camped on the hotel for about 10 minutes by the hostile helo, and he was RACKING up some kills. This, IMO, should not be tolerated. Those helo's weren't designed to kill infantry, they were designed to kill armor and any infantry near the armor. In most cases, my chopper doesn't even get close enough to hit many infantry on the ground with the machine gun, and I tell my co-pilot not to even use it. We're there to keep the armor down so that our armor can take over, and to have helo fights if needed.

I know we can't have a rule for everything, and it's hard to get our rules across because we can't have little blue scrolling messages on BF2 servers yet, but we should be trying to find a way to make the game fair to all players.

I joined the helo squad on that map and asked if I could fly the next time up. The pilot said sure, and continued his game while I sniped from the top of the hotel waiting on my turn to fly.

He was shot down, and I was capped in the face by a sniper. I came back to life 2 seconds before he did on the opposite side of the rooftop, he jumped in, and his co-pilot spawned on him and took off.

I didn't say anything, because I didn't want to be entirely rude in the middle of a battle, but it offended me that I was just ignored.

Everyone deserves their fair share of the choppers and jets and etc, and I think we need to do something about it.

These are just a few things I have complaints about.

So, give us the answers, Mom. How, during daytime hours when there are very few regulars on, can we prevent the things you are complaining about?

What would Mom do?

Re: Server Standards and Rules

Complaining about people shooting infantry with attack helos is like complaining that you got wet in the rain.

7. Criticism: [FDB]Raub, MEC FDB squad leader. For doing almost nothing constructive with your squad. I know, I joined it. You played as sniper, and never gave your squad orders or objectives or led them in almost any way. Go do that on the pubs, pls.

Re: Server Standards and Rules

Bodofooko and I were flying (he was piloting, I was gunning) in the MEC chopper on Sharqi. We got killed a number of times by the enemy chopper so we decided to wait for it to come back to the landing pad on top of the tower to repair/rearm in order to kill it while it's stationary. The massed infantry there were a secondary objective, but since there were so many bunched we decided to mow them down. Most of our kills were hummers/vodniks and people on roofs.

I was somewhat dismayed by the lack of respect for players and rules by the opposing helo pilots (not you Mom, the other two who I will not name here). TG is not a place I expect to encounter racial and/or sexual slurs.

Just so you're aware, people do spawn on that roof and can be shot by the helicopter before they are even aware of their surroundings.

Yes, we realized after killing some of the same people twice that we should give you a chance to get away and switched to patrolling the surrounding area until we took a few hits. We had several AT missile fired at us so sometimes we had to resort to taking them out (and unfortunately the splash damage also takes out the newly-spawned players).

Re: Server Standards and Rules

See my sig for details. Seems like some long-time players have not read the SOPs.

The second link applies to this thread in particular. My PM box is devoid of such complaints.
