Patchy Terrain when painting.
Yesterday, I was expertimenting with painting the terrain with more than one layer. However, the second layer which was a grass texture was very patchy.
I found this picture with a similar problem I am having http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...2/cf6211ac.jpg Anyone had this problem, what have I overlooked? |

Re: Patchy Terrain when painting.
I figured something out yesterday, to stop the patchy terrain I had to click the MERGE button in the right hand editor, no idea why. It probably merges all the layers into one (However don't press CLEAR, I had to start all over again).
I wish I had better reasoning why that button didn't what was needed but I don't have a textbook answer for yaz. |

Re: Patchy Terrain when painting.
I had painted the whole terrain(may not be a good way of working but I hated seeing untextured areas) in one texture and then started to paint a second layer of grass over that.
However since then I've been trying to create a rocky area. This was was covered in one rocky texture but it looked to fake over a large area. So now I have a second texture layer, and by taking the brush pressure level down(can't remember what it was called, below the Brush size) and giving the second texture layer a muddy texture. I can subtly blend the two together creating a more organic feel to it. It now looks much better. |
