Your FPS

Just something I like to know

With my new card I can set the basics on high, Lighting and shaders on medium and texture filtering on high, view distance 100% and 4XAA and I get around 60-70 frames on a good server, which is very playable for me .

What FPS's do you guys get?

Re: Your FPS

What resolution is that at Thierry?

I have most of my settings on Medium on a 6800GT @ 1280x960 and get those kind of frame rates regularly. The game put them at High by default but I read through the Tweak Guide for BF2 and found that there is hardly any difference between the two. Medium and Low is a very noticable difference. For instance, if you're a competitive gamer, you can turn your shadows down to low and then almost all the static shadows go away. No more hiding in the dark. You can do the same thing with grass and foilage, but I don't remember which setting controls it. If you're a sniper and can't figure out how this one guy always sees you, it's probably because he has a krappy system and he doesn't see the "grass" you're hiding in.

Re: Your FPS

I get about 15-30fps on most maps, 10 on songhua, 15-20ish on urban maps. This is at 1024x768 with most settings at low or medium.

It gets frustrating at times but you get kinda used to it.

Re: Your FPS

I can't believe your fps are that low given how often you've killed me. I can't imagine what your skills would be like if you had better framerates.

I'm at around 40 fps with medium settings, 6xAA. It's a 9700 AIW Pro pushing a 36" 800x600 monitor.

6800GT
AMD 64 3500
1280x960
0xAA
Typically in the 50s.
Smoke is the only thing that noticeably brings that number down.

Re: Your FPS

15-30 @ 1024, everything set to low, except geometry which is set to medium. dynamic lightning/shadows are off, so is everything else that can be toggled off.

Press ~ for the console and type in "renderer.drawfps 1" (without the quotes). It displays a set of two numbers. I think the first is your FPS.

Or, you can get something like Fraps.

Re: Your FPS

I get about 60-100, averaging around 80. I have it on everything high, lighting low and shadows off, with 2xAA and custom resolution of 1280x1024. Runs fine with the lighting on medium and shadows on high, but after a playing around with it, using the setting as they are stopped the little lag spike I was getting. Seriously looking at getting a pair of 1GB sticks and taking out my Ballistix and then I'll try and turn it up again, till then, here's a screenie of how I have to play.

!! How'd you get that screen res? I've been crying since bf1942 I can t get it to go 1280x1024 !!

My LCD stretches 1280x960, so even with my nice new GeForce7800 GTX I cant get it looking sharp, and I _have_ to use 4xAA just to get over the mangling the monitor does. Overall, my gfx come up not 'blurry' but, well, just not as sharp as they should.

Dunno my fps, didnt know how to check (do now) but I'm running;

P4ht 550, 3.4Ghz
1MB Dual Channel DDR 400 ram
GeForce7800 GTX
3DMark05 @ 6300

That GFX card has stuck the hugest grin across my face for the last couple of weeks
