Counter-Strike: Condition Zero

Hey folks.

I have NO experience with Counter-Strike, but I was looking through games at IGN and I came across the preview of: Counter-Strike: Condition Zero. Game looks very Rainbow-sixish to me. I was intrigued that the game was tactical squad based action in a mission type environment.

Anyone who has played GhostRecon or Ravenshield want to make some comparisons?

Re: Counter-Strike: Condition Zero

To compare:
  • GR, RS, and RvS are all out. CS:CZ is not.
  • CS:CZ is an attempt to make a singleplayer component to a multiplayer game by tacking AI onto the end. Compare this to the others, and notice that they have AI built in from the start.
  • CS:CZ will run off of the same HL engine that came out in 1998.
It would have been a keen idea four years ago, or heck, even two years ago back when they first announced it. Now, it's kind of passe.

Re: Counter-Strike: Condition Zero

i'm a living proof with this condition zero crap! the trailers look good, but once you play it for like 30 mins, you might as well play your old half life 1 or opposing force which gies you the same "excitement" as condition zero. in fact, condition zero sucks so much, i can find more excitement with James Bond 007:Nightfire than a crappy game like cz.

in another words: don't buy it,

listen to us: DON'T BUY IT!

Well, I AM a nutjob...

But I didn't buy the game. If UBI doesn't announce GhostRecon 2 soon, I'm going to have to branch out to another game. GhostRecon is fun...but starting to stale a bit...

Re: Counter-Strike: Condition Zero

At this point, the money would be better saved for Half Life 2. Buying CZ for a multiplayer mod is silly, IMHO. The thing that makes CS so great is the multiplayer aspect of it, playing against AI would not be worth it.
