Outranking CO

Not sure if this has been changed, but if our server is unranked, does a person with a higher rank get CO before other people still?

Figured it'd be food for thought atleast.

Yeah I think so. I think that is also how new squad leaders are chosen. I may wrong. There is a thread about it somewhere...

No. Players with a higher rank will not get CO chair preference. Unfortunately if you request the CO chair and someone beat you to it, the message is a stock EA message that states you may have been beat out by someone with a higher rank.

Oh right, I stand corrected.

Re: Outranking CO

So currently it is first come first serve?

Maybe once we have the scripts in place to detect forum members in BF2 (to automatically make room for SMs), maybe we can put that code into selecting a CO.

So SMs will get first CO priority (like higher rank), then forum members, then pubbies.

Also, if a pubbie is currently in the CO, a forum member should be able to apply for the position and bump them out, since they are of 'higher rank'. This would also hold true if a forum member was CO and a SM wanted the position. Of course, if a forum member requests the seat and a forum member is in the seat, they'd be denied. So only a 'higher rank' can remove someone of 'lower rank'. This would prevent people from fighting back and forth for the seat.

This would definitely keep people who we don't want in the chair from having it...and if a jerk is in it and no admin is around, you may be able to bump them out with your 'rank'.

I really need to learn how to program. I can always come up with great ideas, but I don't have the means to impliment them..it can get annoying.

So, maybe 4 or so years from now I'll be able to start doing it myself Depends if the wife goes on to medical school or not - which I wouldn't argue with..I'll go on hold for that
