Re: Alternative to the in-game BF2 Browser
I bought a life-time registration for ASE a few years ago. Before Yahoo took it over it was the best around. It's still good, but Yahoo hasn't done much to improve it.
Still much better than the in-game browser and LameSpy but after reading the PlanetBattlefield forums I'm going to give this one a try. The only real issue I saw with people getting it to install/work was it isn't obvious you need to have the .NET 1.1 Framework installed. Otherwise, the most recent posts in the PB forum thread are very positive. There was even a comment about it taking less resources and being a bit faster than ASE. Since all I really play these days is BF2 this may be my new browser of choice. I did see a note that column sorting (i.e. pings) isn't implemented yet but will be soon but for freeware it doesn't look bad.

Re: Alternative to the in-game BF2 Browser
asch, did you get this downloaded? Unfortunately, it appears the FP link to download it no longer works as I'm re-directed to the main FP page.
Edit: Ah, found it. You have to log-in to FP and then it takes you to the download page for the specific file.

Once EA fixes the command line parameters issue then I might give it a go. |
