Nice post, and thanks for the mention.

You trying to promote the server aren't you. Nice!

I had been hoping for servers with a rank minimum to join. Maybe that would help. At least you're getting rid of newbies that way (they can practice on other servers).

They should have a system were players that don't follow orders are automatically kicked. You would have a "test order" (don't laugh!) at the moment someone joins a game. For instance "move to this position" and the player will be kicked if he doesn't go there.

Or he would be ordered to jump of a bridge, to see if he's willing to die for his commander

Re: My rant about public servers - you might find it interesting

I generally can't even read that forum anymore. After browsing for a few pages you realize the sort of public this game attracts and realize why it's in the state it is on most servers. Not to mention I am pretty sure I've lost a few IQ points everytime I go on there but can't prove it anymore *sigh*.

As for the rank minimum to join that's the exact opposite in the direction this game should go. It will just promote stat padding and exploitation by people so they can play with the 'elite'. All that gets you is people who spend a lot of time on ranked servers together in one place so they can worry about their stats there instead of on servers with lower ranked individuals. Since I made an nick with the TG tag I think I took that account on a ranked server once, remembered that BF2 wasn't really worth that sort of suffering and did something else till a TG server was more populated.

I really think that the entire ranking system ruined any chance of getting decent gameplay on servers. Exactly the opposite of what EA anticipated in the community update you cite. Most folks on ranked servers only care about their own stats and ignore the team.

People TRY to get the purple heart badge which requires 5 kills and 20 deaths... They set out at the start of the round to make their team lose 20 tickets. If that's not anti-team behavior, I don't know what is. And what's so bad is that it is endorsed by EA due to that stinkin badge!

I like the badges and ranks and stats and all that. I HATE the extra baggage that comes with it.

Jesus. TG has been my only source for BF2 info, community, etc. Reading that thread and getting a glimpse of the 'outside world' just made me appreciate how good this community in fact is.
