Expansion: Special Forces; Thoughts?

I searched and found only topics created more than a month ago, so I'd figured i'd start a new thread to gather opinions as to how many people plan on buying the expansion.

I for one am not going to buy it.

What is TG plan on doing with the expansion?

I'm not buying the expansion. From here on out, I'm looking towards Point of Existence 2, Desert Combat 2, and Forgotten Hope 2.

Also i'm looking forward to ghost recon 3 since its coming out for pc only

I'm a boycotter - I won't buy it for sure until they fix the glaring bug/balance issues the already have and STILL didn't fix in 1.03.

Even then - it looks retarded. Unless that totally changes upon release, it looks too stupid to play. (Zip lines!?!? c'mon ... )

Sorry, I meant Desert Conflict. DC is being developed by another team, which at this point reportedly also includes some ex-dice and ex-trauma guys.

Ah, yes... Some of you say: "Well isn't BF2 basically DC." Yes and no. Battlefield 2 is no longer based on the Gulf 1 and Gulf 2 Wars. Desert Conflict hopes to take BF2 back a few years and back into the sandy desert of Iraq.

1st: Our first release will primarly be ported maps from the hit Mod Desert Combat.

2nd: The second release will hopefully bring in new armies, models, and player skins.

3rd: Following releases will be updates, bug fixes, and map add-ons.

So far, almost all of the BF1942 mod teams are back for more modding with BF2.

They got fired. As soon as BF2 was near gold, EA closed Trauma.

I won't rule out BF2SF right away; I'm willing to give it a fair shake. DICE has kept me entertained with BF2, so I'm thinking they can do a decent job with BF2SF.

I don't think so. The expansion so far looks like a lot of fluff.

I do think Grappling Hooks would be nifty for some novelty maps and would give infantry a good bit of extra mobility but other then that the expansion seems kind of corny. Also, in the past, the mods have been better then the expansions and modders better at keeping ontop of things like balance issues.

I have it reserved where i work at. I need something new for a while. Been playing DOD source having lots of fun. But i miss bf2. I want to get it because i want new maps, new enviorments and what not. Sure the games are buggy but all games are. which is why they make patches. I dont know one game this day in age that didnt need a patch for something, big or small. I am looking forward to it. If its a failure i still have it to play around with every now and then if not theres always other better games out there. OH and to the post about Ghost recond. ITs coming out for PC first but still coming out for 360 and ps3.
