AT Siting/Guiding Question

Something I've noticed of late since I've been playing more AT after the patch. On many servers, when I site and fire the AT rocket, my site stays up and I can easily continue to guide the rocket through the site without interruption. Now sometimes - and I've notice on the TG server it is almost all the time (maybe it's only on the TG server) - when I fire a rocket "my character" immediately lowers the AT system rather than holding it up while the rocket is in flight (basically leaving me with a 2 second interruption which is an eternity).

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm I just crazy?

Re: AT Siting/Guiding Question

After you fire continue to hold down your button and you can guide the missle to your target.

yea you let go of the fire button and it will drop the launcher. Same with staying zoomed with the sniper rifle after a shot.

If you are using a wireless keyboard, put in fresh batteries and move the antenna away from speakers or other soruces of interference-- low batteries or poor signal quality can cause the keybaord to report 'internittently'.

Re: AT Siting/Guiding Question

If it's staying up longer on other servers but not on TG, that's evidence of the good performance you get on TG servers. Other servers lag a bit and don't report that you've let up on the mouse button, but TG notices right away. That's quality, eh?

Hmm - learn something new every day. I'll put it to the test in a moment.

Re: AT Siting/Guiding Question

i only recently learned that you also can guide the missiles without having the sights on. but i am not sure if the target gets a lock-on warning?

That's especially helpful when the target is stationary and close to medium distance. Example: you pop out from behind cover, aim slightly to the side of the target and fire, then sidestep back behind cover. The missile will move on to the target without you being exposed as long. Don't know about the lock warning though.

Re: AT Siting/Guiding Question

It could have been as simple as this: If you're playing AT on mec, the site moves away the minute you fire the rocket (if you're not holding down the mouse). But on usmc, even if you don't hold down the mouse, you see through the scope untill you're at rocket blows up. I don't know what the case is for china but the moral is - hold down that left clicker.

I've heard from multiple sources that have tested and confirmed (i.e. 2 people, 2 PCs, same room, closed network) that no lock-on warning is given if you aren't sighting.

Thanks to everyone on this. I think the issue was the MEC/USMC thing. Either way, I'll be holding down the mouse if any sighting is necessary.

Thanks
