Sniper unit/clan?

G’day all I'm new to these forums. What attracted me was the sniper aspect and info these forums provide.

Just wanted to ask if there is any specific sniper units/clans out there that operate in battlefield 2?

I'm keen to join up and fight with the best!

Can you just post some info I there is any out there?

yes, we often times set up sniper squads on our servers, but we are not a clan. this is a community of tactical persons. haaaa, i said persons.

Of course, soon a sniper squad gets ordered to take a point since the commander is low on squads, and one of them spawns as medic and another as AT, and then slowly they spawn as assault and support, and soon the only snipers are the ones on the enemy team who are convinced you guys will show up anytime now and start sniping.

I noticed there was a lot of snipers last night, I kept getting sniped everywhere, even in tank turret

ya, i had a lucky shot once. took a heli pilot smack dab out of the cocpit. *boom* *headshot* and then i watched it spiral downwards with its cargo panicing. when you are in the tank turret, press your duck key to hide in it. thats helpful when you are taking fire and dont know where its coming from.

USMC had a lot of snipers on Mashtuur; there were a couple of us on MEC doing counter-sniping, and we had a target rich environment. Tank turrets are one of the easiest places to snipe people from. Sitting on a .50 cal makes you deadly to normal infantry and a target to snipers.

Me, Perry and Phoenix were a 3 man sniper squad on Mashtuur last night moving around to all the hot spots. We had some nice countersniping skirmishes with Jep and whoever he was running with.

.50 cals and tank turrets are the sniper gimme.

A sniper in a stationary .50 is basically a free kill for snipers. Nothing says KILL ME to a sniper like sitting in one place firing a gun that lights you up like a christmas tree .

Plus, when you die in a vehicle you stay dead. No revive for you, just like dieing while on a ladder.

Ya I norm always set up a sniper squad when I'm in game. But its hardly ever what it should be. People almost never join, that are snipers anyway so I just run through the list and see whos playing with what kit and invite the snipers into the team.

However ya most the time you get people using random kits and the commander normally doesn’t know how to deploy a sniper unit properly.

On basically gifted kills I love shooting guys out of the jeeps and ya other cars and tanks especially when there trying to capture the flag, I'm sure that makes them pretty cut.

M24 is the sniper for me, when I do long range anyway (my fav), the .50 cal just don’t sit right with me (not saying its not good) just I'm not as confident with it.

Ill be sure to check the servers out and look out for some sniper squads. But I'm guessing then that there is no specific clans dedicated to sniping?

when the CO doesnt know how to command a sniper squad effectively its sad...gennerally when im the SL of a nice sniper squad i tell the CO not to give us orders we will support were needed. i tell my squadmates to spread out and cover the map...make sure we can cover all CPs effectively and spot enemies...

Sort of like the proposed AA squad? It makes sense, being lone wolves and all... Maybe two snipers working in pairs, and 3 pairs?

i dont know about an AA squad, but that is getting way to specialized. that happenes natrually when you take a flag, someone hops into the AA missles place. there is no specific kit that prevents Air attacks, execpt mabey assault because of the smoke.
