Dirty CO trick

I've done this a couple of times and I always get a laugh out of it. As CO, drop a supply crate near some enemies or in an enemy base and then place arty right on top of it. Its a great way for drawing people out of cover and the arty will hit just as they are running towards it. Anyone think this is an unfair tactic?

Yea, I read about that a long time ago. It's always funny though.

Re: Dirty CO trick

Yeah you can. I've run into that from more enterprising enemy COs a couple times. I've actually told my squad - "Our CO didn't send that crate! It's a trap! Take cover!", followed by a fat arty drop.

If you doublecheck the text messages and see no message from your CO informing you of a drop... RUN!

Re: Dirty CO trick

Baiting artillery strikes is awesome. But with the new features in 1.03, it should be apparent when a supply crate is friendly or not. Unfriendly supply crates should be viewed with suspicion.

Re: Dirty CO trick

Unfriendly supply crate? = eats my AT missile or grenade unless my squad really really needs it

Re: Dirty CO trick

It is always nice when C4ing enemy arty to find a supply crate next to it to restock.

Re: Dirty CO trick

Especially now that there's a location indicator on screen. If the specops stick around the vicinity of the arty and glance in that direction eveyr now and then they will be able to see when a crate shows up, evne if they don't have eyes on when the crate drops.

Run over, plant 4 C4, wait till you load up to full again, run off and blow it. Creat dies, arty dies and you're set for another round.
