Okay.. Decisions Decisions...

Tactical Gamer can finally host an honor server!

Here's the deal. If we throw up a server we need to fork out $40/month for "Honor" licensing. I'm more than willing to provide the server and we can certainly swing the honor licensing fee. But the question remains:

Do you guys want to play?

Will Magnum50 take on the admin role for the server?

Will having honor make you more likely to play than not having honor?

I've never played AA but if TG supported it i'd give it a try. I'm not shure what the honor thing is though, is similat to the ranking system in BF2?

Re: Okay.. Decisions Decisions...

It is similar.. There are only certain numbers available in each class in the game. The higher your honor, the higher your class preference. So someone with 100 honor would bump you out of the sniper position if you only have 10 honor.

You need to have 25 honor points to play the SF missions and to get your SOPMOD rifle which you can customize.

We've always had a ton of people that enjoy the game here, but we've always had to either a) play on public servers because people don't play on non-honor servers, or b) play on our non-honor server and forego allowing people to get their SOPMOD and be constantly bumped out of position by public players joining in.

Being able to run an honor server will change the landscape dramatically.

The relevance of honor points is much higher in AA than it is in BF2. In BF2 you get largely unchanged weapon unlocked and cool symbols next to your name. In AA it actually ends up meaning something. You lose honor VERY quickly for teamkilling or even injuring teammates, so there is strong incentive to stick with your team and watch your fire.

Honor relates to training and weapons. The higher your honor, the more the capabilities of the game open up to you. Your initial training is in airborne: get some successful missions under your belt, and you can begin the Special Forces track.

Apophis, that's a yes. Let me know what you need from us. I will download this when I get home.

Magnum is a great choice for GO as well.

Re: Okay.. Decisions Decisions...

I'd like to play.

The last several times I've tried to get an interest in this game, it's proven too unstable, with common CTDs (I grant that may say more about my machine than the title, but that helps me little or none).

Their support system was none effective is assisting me in my efforts to get a lost password (associated with an email address I no longer own), too.

Anyway.... I'd give it another shot.

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Root: Welcome to TG. Feel free to punctuate your sentences correctly. Monkerz: Its gonna take all my skills to beat those boys off in the future.

Cool Re: Okay.. Decisions Decisions...

I'm interested...

I played AA for a while...

Until I just couldn't stand the type of person that played it! The atmosphere for a "noob" was extremely "elitist", IMHO, and it was very hard to keep my cool! The more honor points you had, the better person you were supposed to be... pffffft

I think that there is a good game under all of the "Honor Point's" delusion! So if I'm gonna play at all, it's gonna be TG exclusive...

With that said, I can't wait to try it out...

Re: Okay.. Decisions Decisions...

Not me, mine was still there...

If you e-mail there support, they will find it in there history report and re-activate it for you if there... Friend of mine had to do that.

Be Warned... IMO this is the most realistic squad tactical shooter out there, teamwork is estintial... kill or wound a friendly will cost you dearly...

kill a friendly in the first 20 seconds... you'll get kicked off server to Ft. Leavenworth prision... kill or injure a friendly and you lose a major chunk of honor, which may cost you a complete level... honor is cool IMO, it keeps people honest, keeps people in contact, and forces gamers to work as a team... to know where everyone on your team is.

If played right AA is one of the best... and you can't beat the price, lol...

If your new, learn how to tell friend from foe before firing... if your serious about tactical gaming (hence our name, lol) read a article I posted about in the general forums called "real world tactics in PC games", it relates to AA alot.

remember you fire better and smoother when your near your team leader, (marked on the top hud), know your role and play it... and enjoy the game by playing as a team, sure you can go Rambo it and you may even get great scores that way, but thats NOT TG.

Medics do there job... heal people...
Gunners do your part... suppress...
Riflemen do your part... move and flank...

and leaders.... LEAD. lol

Looking forward to good TG action with some of you.

PS: You can also load a map on your own then spawn in to learn it...recon. lol

Re: Okay.. Decisions Decisions...

Sounds like fun, I'll give it a try. Can you give me an idea of long a session/match/map/round/whatever lasts? Example a BF2 map on server one is always less than 1 hr.
