Sniper training session

I want to set up a sniper training session for our current snipers to improve our skills.

We've got 4 rifles (M24, SVD, Type 88, M95) and they all seem to have different ballistics. I'd like to get a few guys together on the private server sometime so we can go through and work out exactly what the bullet drop on the various rifles is at different ranges, as well as bullet travel time and divergence.

Anybody interested?

That would be pretty fun. A good chance to practice with the newly determined ballistics info.

Re: Sniper training session

I'm all for the idea, but I'm hoping it's an actual training session and not a 16 player sniper deathmatch

Not at close distance, but yes, it does. Very slight, but you still need to compensate for it.

I'm up for this. I really want to learn the sniper rifles in the game.

I'd like to stop by if you don't mind having a beginner around.

Re: Sniper training session

Okay, so here's the plan (let me know if it doesn't work for you):

~9:00EST tonight, we'll do some ballistics analysis. I'd like to get a few regular snipers on at this time so we can set up targets at different ranges and test bullet drop, bullet speed, etc... I'm not sure how long it'll take but we've got four rifles to go through. I think an hour should be sufficient. This is just going to be a boring exercise in data collection, but the more people we have the faster it'll go.

~10:00EST we'll do some basic sniper training and some sniper-vs-sniper fighting. I'm thinking a few minutes of basic orientation and then we can have a little fight.

We'll do the ballistics stuff on the private server. We could do the sniper fight on server 2 for the non-SMs, but I think those maps might be a little too big.
