Love to play

but all tis training crap stinks. Especially when the stupid server keeps kicking me out and wont let me save my progress to my jacket after each successful lesson.

How frigging long is it supposed to take to actually qualify and be able to play the darn game.

Re: Love to play

How far along are you in the training? It took me awhile to get everything done but it is worth it.

Re: Love to play

For the most part just complete basic training, rifle marksmanship, and I think mount site.

The rest is optional.

Re: Love to play

After many hours (esp airborne & escape & evade) I've completed the training. I've never played this game before this and in a to be expected moment when I signed on to a random pubbie I tk'ed three guys...That put my honor down to about 7.

I've worked my way back and now have 10 honor but the TG server says I don't have the necessary credentials to log on.

What else do I need to do? I'm dying (no pun intended) to get on the TG server and start learning this game in the TG fashion but I can't.

My personnel jacket says I have 10 honor points - so that should be okay...but it also says I have something like 500 experience points to go...Is this why I can't sign on to the TG server...I can't find anything in the (long) manual that talks about experience points...any help I can get to figure out why I'm not allowed to sign on to the TG AA server would be much appreciated...

Re: Love to play

Some of the maps, not all, require SF qualifications which means you need 15 honor and training completed. You can play on the TG server when the map is not SF.

Re: Love to play

Thanks for the clarification squid...

What is a good way to build honor...not looking for any shortcuts but is there one activity that helps build it faster than another. I play medic alot in BF2 and I'm qualified for it now in AA...Does healing people give more honor? Its all new ya know.

PS...NICE Sig !!

You must have been in or are in the US Navy...My brother is serving in Bahrain...he's not a SEAL but he maintains their long range commo equipment there.

Re: Love to play

Yes you do get honor for healing people. I think around 15 each time. The fastest way to get honor is to play on maps that can be completed quickly and where you have a clear idea of where your teammates are located so you don't TK them.

I've done basic, and the 2 sniper rifle training levels. The TG server still won't let me join

I really don't want to waste my time on this training rubbish. It's not clear what you have to do, and you have to sit through endless amounts of crap just to try again when you fail.

Dang, sorry to hear that Root. I guess this game just isn't for you

But if you are just ranting, and don't really mean it, I'd be glad to help any time I am on.

Damn right I'm ranting. I hate badly made games. If you can tell me how to land properly however..... I'm doing exactly what I did on the 250' drop, but no matter where I land it fails me. The kind of precision this seems to be demanding simply isn't relevant in a game or in RL.

Re: Love to play

I did the parachute jump about 50 times. It's hard but not impossible. It's all in the timing.

I think the public MILES (laser) Mt McKenna maps are the easiest to gain honor. It's much more difficult to fully TK your mates, the map is fairly small so the rounds are quick, and there are lots of other new players about

Re: Love to play

Thanks for the tips guys...

I did get on the TG server the last couple of times I tried. It's been fun and I'm grateful for everyone's patience...

I just keep following around some of the more experienced players and follow thier lead...Its demanding as the game is much harder than BF2

Re: Love to play

I dunno whats wrong with me but airborne from the crane I passed on the first try. Live jump I passed on the second cause I missed the circle on the first.

All I did was look 90 degrees from the ground and flare just before impact. It seemed pretty simple. =\

MOUT and E&E were a bitch but these came pretty easily.
