Airbourne training

Ok so I actually managed to complete MOUT in the end. Now I'm stuck on the 250' drop. The drill instructor doesn't actually tell you anything useful. There isn't a flare key. What the heck am I supposed to do?

Re: Airbourne training

I believe the action (E) key is your flare key. So to land, turn yourself (D) to a 90 degree angle and use the E key to flare.

"Support game play in a near-simulation environment. Where the focus of play would not be solely on doing what it takes to win, but doing so utilizing real-world combat strategy and tactics rather than leveraging exploits provided to players by the design of the game engine, regardless of the level of advantage, if any, it gives over the opposing team." -- Tactical Gamer Primer

Re: Airbourne training

Time your flare just before you land, and the PLF will fail you if not done properly. Remember this game is used as a recruitment tool, so they made it thorough for a reason.

I feel your pain. I have gone through it 100 times, and still haven't cracked it. I'm not sure If I'm supposed to turn BEFORE I LAND, or AFTER. It doesn't seem to work one way or the other.

Re: Airbourne training

I got lucky. On the live jump I went out the plane and did nothing until I saw the circle. Then I hit my movement keys a little flared and landed. For me the circle was right there. I am having trouble getting thru the SF training. AAAGGGHHHHHH.

I wish that links like that weren't posted I mean, that last text file there gives answers to the quizzes and stuff. Giving tips on E&E is one thing, giving a walk through is something else entirely, IMHO. The training is meant to be a PITA.. you couldn't enlist in the Army today and expect to be running around with a SF team in Iraq tomorrow.

I spent entirely too long on that E&E training, several hours.. but I was proud of myself when I finally did finish Their tips on the airborne training are good though, because the crap that Sgt. Airborne tells you is about worthless.

Re: Airbourne training

Sorry Perry, I only read the E&E section. I forgot that there were other sections for the rest of the training.

I'll remove the direct link.
