New to the game? Sloppy's formula to success.

Here's my recipe:

There is a lot of training involved overall. At first do the basics, which I believe is some range shooting and a MOUT type map. If you do all the training at once you can get brain fry, frustrated, and start foaming at the mouth (Root can attest to that).

Play for a while, adjust some keybinds using the ingame options as you see fit (some of the defaults like the leaning keys are rediculously placed). Get an honor point playing MOUT Mckenna. Get a general feel of the game. Learn to ID opfor.

Switch between training and playing till you hit honor 15. At which type you should all the training done, including medic and SF.

Play 2-4 maps consistently and try to incorporate learning the locations along with mastering movement and shooting. Use report in frequently and pay attention to your own locations. Defend/attack the same areas/routes a few times to get to know them well. Learn to use sights, get a feel for recoil, and practice cooking grenades (when teamates aren't standing next to you).

When you hit honor 17 or 18, seriously take a look at modifying keybinds manually (see my other post on this one). Consider a layout that is efficient and centers keys around the idea of "what will I need to use in a combat situation the most". Also set up some communication keys for the basics (like numpad keys).

Get back into the game, relearn your new layout for a couple more honor levels.

By 20, you should have a couple maps mastered, and at least familiar with several others. From this point on it's about expanding your map knowledge, perfecting ranged shots, grenade cooking, 203 shooting, communication, and teamwork.

Nice post. Yeah I still have a lot of training to do. I also apparently need to read the manual... couldn't even figure out how to re-bind keys last night. lol

I think that as long as you've completed basic training you should be able to do a good portion of the maps. You should be able to play as an IF on the SF maps, anything except sniper on infantry maps.. but I don't think you'd be able to play on the Ranger or Airborne maps. At least that's my understanding of the system. Heh.

I gave up after failing the MOUT countless times.

Finally got it. I must say, Sniper Training is extremely easy, and the medic/SF first trainings are THE MOST RIDICULOUS PART of ANY FPS I have ever seen.

Heh. Medic training is actually interesting - it helped me pass a first aid course I did a few weeks later. But SF training....boooooooooring..

I can stand the tedium of classes and endless walking/running in reality, but in a game it gets a bit much to swallow. But seriously, pass it, and the game's worth it.

And when you get your level up to 15 (which doesn't take long) you can build your own gun which is cool.

I'd prefer it if there was more accersories you could add onto those things though.
