/wave hello - glad I found the boards

Hello, TG members!

I got BF2 about a week ago and have been playing (well, dying) on public servers for the past seven days. One of my biggest frustrations has been all the time I have spent playing with with people who run around like its recess in grade school, hopping up and down, grabbing that last jeep and zooming off with me standing in the dust....

Last night I happened to log on to a TG serve, and man, what a different experience. I saw people cooperating, there were squads with actual leaders, and someone actually waited til I was able to get into a helicopter before taking off! I probably didn't contribute a whole lot to my side (and my apologies to the two teammates I blew up with my grenade), but I saw the game's true potential.

I'll be logging on to your server a bit more, if there's room, and hopefully my game skills will improve to the point where I can contribute to something more than someone else's medic badge. I've also read quite a few of the guides posted here - those are bound to help!

hey im glad you found home. you will find that this place is filled with great helpful people. Make sure you read the SOPs and rules. When you join our servers jump in a squad that has people with a |TG| tag infront, let them know you are new and need some help, you will get more then enough help. If you have any questions dont hesitate to ask in here or in game. Make sure you have Team speak.

Hey, always nice to have a new face. And one that has proper spelling and grammar and makes posts easy to read is no exception!

Since nobody's mentioned it, make sure to go ahead and read the SOPs. They come in useful when you need to know what the heck is going on when fire discipline is called, or when you're trying to understand what the squad leader is talking about regarding some sit of 'sitreps'. Those aren't repetions of sit-ups, are they?

See you on the server,

~Salad

Like someone told me:

Welcome to the last place you'll play online.

Give it a week or two and you'll never want to go anywhere else.

Re: /wave hello - glad I found the boards

Happy you are here Ferpo...

I was about ready to quit playing BF2 when I found TG two months ago. So I'm still kind of a newbie myself. The people are kind and forgiving and community is welcoming and caring. Sounds corny but its true.

Hope to see you out there soon...Try out America's Army too. Its a FPS shooter that is more realistic than BF2. TG just started an America's Army Honor server and I bet it's going to grow bigger as people get their fill of BF2...

edit--first person shooter shooter--der

Re: /wave hello - glad I found the boards

Nice to see a new face. I'd still play BF2 even without Tactical Gamer, but really, the difference in fun is so big that I can't bring myself to play on normal servers anymore. TG is such a wonderful place, it has spoiled me

Wow - quite a welcome! Must be a slow day at work for you guys as well.

I see you have a TS server...does that mean you do not use the in-game comms?

TS is primarily used for contacting an admin if their are any problems. Use the in game VOIP for in game communication.

Re: /wave hello - glad I found the boards

Also, don't forget about using TS for smacktalk between games... We definitely use the in-game communications. TS is just another layer of depth that the regulars frequent, and adds even more to the BF2 experience.

Don't worry about not having a ton of experience and playing here. What we primarily focus on is teamwork and gamesmanship. As long as you're contributing to your squad/team, being active and having fun, you'll do fine. Your skills will develop with time.
