Re: 2.5 Linux & Mac released!

I'm getting much worse performance in Linux than I do in Windows, which is the complete opposite of every other AA version I've played. Linux has always done better for me. 1024x768, settings on normal, and I was only getting like 25 - 30 FPS on SF Courtyard, but Windows would get em 45 - 50+. Anyone else using Linux and tried it out yet?

I haven't installed it yet on TacticalOS. 25-30FPS seems ok to me, though.

Re: 2.5 Linux & Mac released!

Just did a quick experiment on our server.. It was on Pipeline SF. Loaded it up in windows and it was showing over 80FPS while Punkbuster was doing its thing, then about 70 FPS as I was running around the computer room and top level. I copied down my video settings, switched to Linux, and made everything the same. 40 FPS with Punkbuster, right at 35 while running around. So, yea... that's pretty bad in my book. I'll try playing tonight with other people on the server and see if it's playable at these levels.

Seeing a few other Linux folks complain about the same thing on the AA forums.. and lots of unhappy Mac folks

Figured my problem out.. It was related to the CPU frequency scaling. Same place on pipeline is now up at 80FPS
