10/30 Fushee, Wake, Stalemate, and Cleansweep (uggg long post)

I commanded the opfor for 4 freakin maps in a row and that made me so tired, I took a nap after finishing cleansweep . Why did I command you ask? Because on Fushee we had a tker for a commander. He kept dropping arty on his own troops (including me and my squad) in our UCB. I got on TS and asked for an admin. I think it was asch who responded and right as I was telling him the problem, the guy disconnected. I felt like a dumba$$ for bothing an admin for nothing. That made me so mad that we had a tker for a commander that I clicked that little "apply" button.

I started commanding when fushee was half over already. I really had no idea what I was doing, so we kept loosing the flags we had. Eventually we loss and I was going to leave it at that, but after wake loaded up, several people wanted me to command again.

Writting an AAR as commander is hard because you have to tell what happened to everybody during the round, so I'm just going to keep this simple and leave it to the squad leaders to fill in the gaps if they want.

Wake started up and all my squads spawned at the south base or the airfield. I had to pick sent squad 5 all the way around the island to defend the north. While 5 was getting up there, the US got a foothold on the north and I thought it was all over. Well I sent 5 and 2 up there to hold them at the north while 1 held the south, 4 held the airfield and 3 & 7 were air support. Well after a prolonged 20 or so minute firefight at the north, 5 and 2 eventually pushed all the USMC back and retook the 2 northern flags. But while we were celebrating, squad 1 got broken and overrun in the south. The USMC had taken the beach flag and I "knew" it was only a matter of time before we lost the airfield. I pulled squad 2 back to the south and that left squad 5 isolated at the north for the last 40 minutes or so (sorry squad 5 that it was so boring up there). The whole freaking US team was spawning at the beach so I had every squad push in and try to keep them bottlenecked so I could just keep hitting them with arty. Well after about 30 mins of trying to get the beach back, we finally got it. We had fully secured the island again, I thanked all the squads and since the US only had like 30 tickets left, I said they could just goof off for the remainder of the time. Chinese win on Wake? I think the teams must have been stacked...

Stalemate I didn't want to command but everybody on the team was like, "Dude DV you need to command again!!" LOL. Fine, fine. I was at the Chinese HQ getting my strat ready and Santa landing his full blackhawk right next to me. They all jumped out and I jumped in the minigun and mowed down nearly his whole squad, Santa and Xink are notable . While I don't exactly remembered what happened on this map as flags were changing hands so much. Everytime Deveran lost a flag I would rebuke his squad and I would get some nasty responses over VOIP, but it was all in good fun. Well somehow we pulled a win out of our ummmm.... hat!

Cleansweep as MEC was another pure defense map so I told the squad leaders to pick the flag they wanted to defend and hold tight. Deveran's squad was at the northern flag and it got overrun fairly quickly but he stayed alive for about 10 minutes up there with the WHOLE USMC team running around at that flag . I was getting tired so I don't remember what happened on that map. We would lose a flag, but take it right back. Eventually we took back every flag and held it for the rest of the game. Squad 5 (ABRA right?) was up in their UCB blowing up assets and causing general havok and ta-daa ANOTHER WIN??? What is going on here??

I thought Xink was going to report me becaue throughout the evening, I must have killed him 5 times with my shotgun while being commander whenever he got close to the flag I was at.

Any feed back you guys want to give me on my commandering is welcome. I know I'm not the best, and it really was the squad leaders whom won the battles.

DV did great =P We were kidding the other day when we Pubbie raided late at night about nominating DV for CO award, but after today I think the admin's might take us seriously. =x

I seriously don't know how I stayed alive that long at that north flag. I mean I could see everyone on the UAV and I was running my little tail off until I found a bunker. The funny thing is we lost the flag when I went AFK for like 2 minutes. When I came back all but myself and 1 other guy was alive and the entire USMC were ontop of us. =x It was crazy fun. I kinda liked how DV was COing. He wasn't micro managing and he wasn't just giving orders. I knew what he wanted my sqaud to do and why and that was good enough for me.

You did a great job DV.

On wake, I was in a squad led by Ob1 and we tasked ourselves with defending the airfield. I watched on the initial rush that all our forces had responded to the south (We got lucky that the USMC chose to attack into our entire army). You obviously repositioned one squad to hold the north, while my squad just hunkered down to prevent an airfield cap. After 5 minutes of little to no action we split into informal fire-teams and started harrasing the captured north east base. Then the action really began in earnest with us suppressing the USMC advance from the west and at the artillery.

Re: 10/30 Fushee, Wake, Stalemate, and Cleansweep (uggg long post)

I was leading squad 4 for Fushee and Wake. Excellent bunch of guys.

On Fushee we were mostly trying to take the East mine entrance. It got pretty crazy over there but the flag was never out of our possesion for more than a few minutes. At one stage we were atacked by a tank, apc and AA vehicle and we managed to take all three out within about four seconds thanks to Shiner and Abbras AT skills.

On Wake I volunteered my squad to defend the airfield. Defense is fun. For the first part of the game we didn't see much action but later on it was a real hotspot. Squads would keep blowing up the artillary that was on the beach but since there is hardly any cover down there I would just try to organise a firing line and mow the enemy down. Knight_Ace would then get the artillary up and ready again within a few seconds.

As I said, it was a great squad.

Shiner - Great with AT and assault. Kept me informed of enemy movements etc. Great at the daft 'away' missions I kept sending yo on.

Faultline - One of the best, kick-ass, dedicated medics ever.

Knight_Ace - The squads Engi/Armour guy. The COs assests were never down for more than a few seconds.

Severain - Our squads top-notch supply guy.

Abbra - Another great AT/Assault. Even though you don't like the AT kit, enemy tanks were not around for long.

And excellent work DV. Kept squad four informed of all threats and communicated really well.

Fushe and Wake were alot of fun. You did a really nice job SL'ing Ob1.

Well done to you too DV. Best job I've ever seen PLA do on Wake ever.
