Invent the next class
Stealing this thread idea from another BF2 forum (read after you post your idea, no cheating!)..
If you could invent a new class / kit to be added to the game (besides an AA kit ), what would it be? Doesn't necessarily have to be serious - be creative.. take ideas from other games or whatever. List the kit name, what equipment he'd have, and if not painfully obvious, what his special skills and their limitations would be... Go! Go! Go! |

Just to get this one out of the way.... MANPADs - Man Portable Air Defense.
A more serious one: Frogman. Fast swimming + scuba gear. Has an SMG with integral suppressor. Maybe include a couple of C4s. |

Psy-Ops. They would be similar to Special Forces, but carry radio and jamming gear. They could block CO messages, and issue false commands within a limited area. Maybe they could even make friendlies look like enemies for a short period of time.

Juggernaught kit. AKA 'the big guns'. Will include weapons such as mortar and some fast-firing automatic rifle (think support guns). Will also have heavy body armor (twice that of assault).
As it is with armored units, he will have shorter sprint duration. In the kit selection screen, he'll have only one bar. He will also suffer a slight slow down in regular movement, and will die if forced to swim in water. Eh... off the top of my head, =) ~Salad

Mortar guy Special skills: Indirect fire support area control Marksman Special skills: has rifles that are more accurate than a fuggin pistol Anti-air gonna list this anyway cuz current implementation of AA sucks more than a black hole Special skills: ability to hit non-moving air assets at point blank range greater than 0.05% chance of hitting a moving air target doesn't take 230498324032984230948 seconds to lock onto target greater than 5 meter range is an actual threat to air assets, not free/cheap kills yes, i'm bitter |

Radio Operator. He'd carry a radio on his back, and only he would be able to communicate with the CO and with other Squad Leaders. There could only be one per squad. He'd have a carbine, binoculars for spotting (so he could also act as a Forward Observer for the arty), a pistol, and some smoke grenades. His radio would be part of his kit, so if he was killed another player could pick it up.
EDIT: I would think threads like these would be great input/suggestions for the Tactical Mod. |

Counter-intelligence specialist:
Would get decoy heartbeat drops (like from Rainbow6) and when put somewhere on the map, they will show up as a red dot to the enemy CO when scanning and on the UAV. Think of the new gameplay this would bring. Put like 10 decoys at a flag and then just pull out and leave it undefended. The opfor would probably hesitate to attack the flag or would have to send more than 1 squad to attack. But it would also be used against you. Evesdropper specialist?:... Would get a powerful microphone and when aimed at enemy troops, you could hear what they were saying over VOIP.

Mortars would be great.
Smoke Grenades that lasted longer would be very nice. I would take mortars instead of Artillery. Mobile SAM's would be nice, if they worked Maybe anything in/around the smoke shouldnt show up on the UAV... |
