Sharqi Penn 11/1 Last game with real amounts of people in it

Sharqi for my squad went quite well especially compared to the map before. We had quite a few new people in my squad the map before and continued into Sharqi. So they now had some of the basics down. (Don't clog the com channel by telling us how high you flew when you died, Go towards the orange smoke) and settled down for some decent squad play. We took my usual route to the alleyway flag (almost disconnected due to Antivirus on the road there) and ran into a full squad defending. It took us a little more time than normal but cleared out the squad (Abra). No commander yet, so we took a look around and noticed that the surveillance post was clear. I left my guys to defend the alleyway, snuck down to the surveillance post and met another squad leader (Squad 6) who did the same with his squad at the hotel. We turned it, and then turned around and defended multiple attacks from a very persistant Abra squad.

Our squad for a while then split to defend the Surveillance Post, attack the City Entrance, Defend the Construction Yard and Defend the Alleyway. We were bleeding the US for a while (I like that change a lot) and were asked to push into TV Station. Well, it took us three or four times as it was decently well guarded, but we finally grabbed it. We held onto the flag for the rest of the game although we had some challenges with keeping some teammembers interested in defending. Finally with about a minute left, I released the guys for a minute of fun that they could use to attack any flag they wanted.

Good round guys, Welcome to TG, have fun. Thanks for those who were in my squads tonight including in that round. Gunrack (AT), FPS Douglass (SF), PowerlessHero(Medic), Cyris(Medic), Uberscoober(Assault) and Bane2 as Commander.

Man, I thought telling how high you flew was some of the things you tell your members! I always have distance contests in my sqaud after an arty strike and I'm "killed."

Off Topic - I'm a very persistent procrastinator tonight. This paper sucks. I disabled my mouse so I couldn't look around the computer as easily, but I got so fed up with my paper that I worked around it through my keyboardin skillz to browse the forums for a relief. Yea, I totally don't know what time it is either...turned all my clocks away just because I'm afraid I will realise that I'm not getting any sleep tonight and falter on my paper.

Re: Sharqi Penn 11/1 Last game with real amounts of people in it

Heres the chart for that one.

I had to save that since I enjoyed it so much. Highest kill count during the round all as a sniper. I had one other guy in my squad for at least half the map but he never talked so I just let him do what he wanted. If there was a pressing defense concern or commander assigned task I tried to relay it but the round was mainly just each sniper maneuvering about at their own desire.

I started off at the Construction Site and immediately went up about halfway on the crane. Right on time a squad was taking the Hotel flag undefended(:/)...or so they thought. After my first 3 shots....3 were dead. Since they were one shot kills it took them a bit to figure out where I was coming from...once they did tho I stopped trying for precise shots and just fired as much as I could. Eventually though they put constant fire on my position and ended up killing me with a stinger. <--lol So anyway, respawned at Contruction Site and immediately continued to annoy that squad as they started to push for the CS. I was situated on top of the southern building and setup claymore defense for their pending arrival. As they came up the stairs out went the grenades...took down at least 3 but most got revived. Then out came the silenced pistol and for a bit they didn't catch on that I was pistol sniping them from the floor above. Down went at least another one. Once they got up to the top floor though....run away!! Not sure exactly how long I lasted but after a respawn at the TV station I constantly was sniping people from various points between the tv station and the hotel for a good amount of time. Occasionaly a decent size squad would push for the tv station but they kept getting wiped out by the defense. I helped out when they came up the southern slope since that was mainly where I was situated...again my silenced pistol and grenades were put to great use here. Eventually as Luckyshot stated he pushed for the TV station and after a long battle eventually took it. They got held up in the east rear end behind the fence for a while and suffered heavy casualties but then bommando showed up in his chopper and saved the day. Wiped everyone out on top of the tv station. Everything went downhill for the team after that as expected. Oh well...my fun continued but I'll stop my story there.

Re: Sharqi Penn 11/1 Last game with real amounts of people in it

We were pinned down bad a couple times around that TV station. Once by the dumpsters and we made a little damage, but then again behind the fence east of the flag. Your right, Bommando did amazing things to clear the entryway to the flag. I sprinted to a little nook to defend my guys advance, Nex911 gunned me down. He then stopped in the same spot and my medics couldn't find me. They finally revived me only to die again. I had 4 guys left and told them I didn't want to walk back, so turn that flag. I was more than a little surprised when somehow they did change it and didn't die.

My next spawn was on that chopper roof where I was the guy who got you Mantis. It felt good after getting sniped behind that fence.

Didn't realize my squad had 4 guys in the top 5. I think that is proof as any of the tough fight we had as a squad all over that map.

Re: Sharqi Penn 11/1 Last game with real amounts of people in it

Yeah I really, really enjoyed that utter defeat. I was leading the USMC Spectacles and then the Muppets. I had Gimp-Cacokilla, Brewswillis(Bruce Willis), T-Dip, ThaiGah, and Lead-Headache I think. Great bunch. We got frustrated in our "defense"(don't think we held it for more than a minute after Lucky showed up) and our assualts to take it back. So we went mobile with a TV station Hummvv and got the Hotel, and Survellance Point uncontested in an end run and then defended the hotel for a bit. We made another run that got us Central Entrance and Alleyway back where we lost our ride and we capped on foot Survellance.

I think there was a moment when we had everything but Construction Yard even. But of course that's when the TV station fell. In my mind if you loose the TV station as USMC the hotel is the next best thing to have so we returned there to defend. I don't really know what happened next but somehow it got to be our last point real quick so I said it was time to pull the goalie and either cap some points to alleviate the bleed or loose the whole map in a blowout.

So we hoofed to Survellence unsuccessfully before someone else capped alleyway and we spawned there for another breakout. Central Entrance and Survellance post with light resistence before digging in in the Construction site to weather the storm of the 400 ticket deficiet all the bleeding had left us at.

NorCalROach was a new commander but after taking the seat late in an already bad position he learned quick and by the end of it we had an impressive stalemate going with our last 40 tickets to their 400 or so. The ticket spending rate really turned around at the end I thought and he was doing a good job of keeping the chatter up.

My squad was excellent. They were communicative and responsive which is really all a SL can ask or need from a squad. Even Gimp-cacokilla without his mic was on top of the com rose, typing and pgUp/Downs. He patiently bathed in the hotel fountain for like 10 mins of quiet flag defense jsut holding his flag C4 trigger with nothing else to do. The rest were just smart guys that found good firing positions on defense for the most part and were receptive to learning new tricks. Well stuff like the SL medic kit swap revive that had to be explained but it was good to see a pubbie who didn't know how to switch kits when he joined reviving a downed SL by the end of the match. I was such a chatter box though that I hope I didn't scare them off as they were all first timers on TG AFAIK.

Heh, I've got exams tomorrow and I spent the bulk of the day playing in Dev's squads. Meh.

Dev was there for about half or three quarters of FuShe, owning it up in the air and around the Security Headquarters.

Cramming finished for exams - sleep now, cram more in the morning. Then..exams, and then BF2!

Re: Sharqi Penn 11/1 Last game with real amounts of people in it

That was another frustrating round for me.

First, we got spawn camped at our UCB by the AH-1Z about 6 times in a row and already I was in a bad mood. I kicked the rule breakers, so the guys could at least make a start without being mowed down as soon as they popped up.

My reasons for hitting the TV station were a little selfish. Tybalt and I were getting owned by Dark Viper and his gunner in the enemy helo (mainly due to my lack of gunning and flying ability) and we were getting bored of it. Tybalt suggested the best idea would be to just take the TV station rather than keep going head to head with a superior chopper crew. He was right. We headed over to the station and made our way down the stairs uncontested. We did quite a bit of damage, but didn't quite get our flag up, since the AH made it back to the balcony in time before the flag went up.

I wisely stayed off the balcony and noob-tubed the defenders for a while, but they rallied quickly and we were pushed back. It did switch up the pace of the battle though and allowed us to return to the roof to find a thankfully empty AH, which I promptly made mine. Slugslinger joined us and was very patient with my noob helo skillz and we held both choppers for a good amount of time. Long enough to allow a squad to sneak back and take the station.

All in all, I still have a lot to learn about flying and gunning for the helo, but every time I get owned, I head a little closer to being more competitive in this new skill.

Bommando, I believe you had that Cobra right up until I shot you out of the cockpit with my AT missile. I hit you several times with the AT during the map but just couldn't seem to bring the chopper down.

My favorite moment was when I snuck up on LuckyShot who was setting up his RPK in the corner behind the TV station while his squad prepared to rush into the building. After disposing of Lucky, I quickly picked up the RPK and just started spraying their backs with it I could almost hear Lucky yelling at his squad to turn around. Didn't take long for one of the survivors to cut me down, but at least I had a good laugh.

hehe, that was a nice shot. I did manage to tell Slugslinger to swap seats though and it survived a little while longer until an IGLA took it down. I ended up respawning at the South UCB and gunning for the Mi-28 instead.

It was the Lucky Shot 60 Second Sweepstakes! Bag all you can in sixty seconds, and you get to keep the kills! Bagged me some nex911 and some Dark Viper (and they deserved it too, annoying little *&%$). Time to fire up the barbeque. Good games.
