Karkand2 & Zatar 11/8

Well this was my first experience being in Bommando's squad and let me just say "I was shaking like a leaf". I came in during Karkand2 and was confused from the word "Go Go Go". The squad was in the heat of battle and Bommando was barking orders out left and right and giving "Atta Boys" the whole time and still reviving downed souldiers all at the same time. We eventually ended up at the CP between the bridges and we did a good job holding it.

The next map was Zatar and we ended up defending the Central Island the whole game. Bommando and the rest of the squad did a helleva great job holding it with constant rushes from the ground and bombing from the air. The flag went neutral a couple times but we held until we made a final dash to try and capture some CP. That was a real close game

NEWBIES PERSPECTIVE:
I was very intimidated joining the squad with the players that were in it. I followed my orders and tried to do what I could to help the team. I think half of Bommando's points came from revivng me. I hope I wasn't too much of a handicap to the squad and hope to fight with you guys again. Thanks for letting the newbie ride your guys coat tales!

Re: Karkand2 & Zatar 11/8

Yeah just this weekend I had my first change of being in his squad and there is nothing better. I wish i could have been in it tonight but i have lots of fun with xperimen246 (im sure thats wrong spelling) on karkand2 and deveran on Zatar. But later me and Bommando had a great time in the helicopter on dalian plant and I must say he is not as bad as he thinks he is, then again I bet he thinks I suck at gunning after my preformance tonight.

Re: Karkand2 & Zatar 11/8

Karkand2 is a great infantry map. I say that even though my squad spawned at the first point and immediately fell off a cliff to our death.

Zatar was very close. My squad was tasked with several different tasks including defending the Factory early on and then defending the airfield for the last 75% of the game. We had some early challenges defending the Factory against a Deveran squad and raced the Bom squad to retake it. Although it took several waves, we finally beat the 1337 back off our flag.

CO then asked us to take back the Village and afterwards the Airfield. The Airfield was the site of intense fighting for most of the night and my squad really shined. The US was very persistant, placing tons of AT on the east side of the flag, an SL in the south west hills and rolling in armor 2 at a time. We were able to beat back many of the attacks, but there were a couple times that it fell to the enemy due to numbers. Our counterattacks were strong enough though where we were able to quickly take back the flag.

I believe it was Duke who was flying jets on the MEC as by the end of the round my guys had to be coaxed back into armor. They kept getting bombed over and over. In spite of that though, they generally held strong and made a real nuisance for the MEC side. My thanks to Gunrack, FPS Douglass, BF2XStyle, Bane2, Timmer and anyone else who may have filtered through my squad. It was a blast and I enjoyed the fight!

Re: Karkand2 & Zatar 11/8

It was definitely intense at the Airfield flag on Zatar. Whoever was bringing that kind of pressure non-stop for the 75% of the time we were there deserves props. A lot of the opposition names I didn't recognize, but they were as vicious in wanting the flag as we were in defending it. And with Duke's incessant support bombing, I was surprised our squad under Lucky held out as long and as often as we did. And that we would get it back so quickly if we did lose it.

Anyway, props to our SL, Lucky Shot, who kept us focused on defending and holding the flag, and retaking it right away if rarely lost, despite our sometimes too much chatter on the comm.

On the last half of Zatar I(with one other fellow sniper) was mostly up in the hill to the northeast of the airfield and was spotting/sniping everything I could that came your way luckyshot. I could tell it was effective and it's always fun watching a defending squad move to intercept anything you spot. That is half a sniper's job imo. I believe it was wussypoo's squad that kept moving in from the village time after time.

Re: Karkand2 & Zatar 11/8

Thanks for joining up Drizzid

You did great! You'll find that most squad leaders here welcome new guys with open arms and as long as you keep your ears open, you'll get the job done.

It was an impressive performance by the squad on both Karkand 2 and Zatar. I think everyone did exponentially better every minute we played together. By the end of Zatar, nobody really pressured us on that flag.

Our CO was especially complimentary with our job on Karkand 2, where every UAV placed on our position lit up like Christmas and we held firm. Awesome job. We were under a lot of pressure from what I assume was xperiment's squad. That was the first time I've played Karkand 2 and I must say that protecting those roofs is no mean feat. Almost as hard as keeping slugslinger alive

I normally play Assault as SL, but the enemy was flooding the surrounding roofs like crazy and I needed a kit with hand grenades to keep them from digging in on the high ground, so Medic it was. The plentiful revives were a bonus

I am equally amazed at being able to hold the hill on Zatar. Duke was frustratingly unopposed in the enemy Mig and denied us use of the Cobra with constant strafing runs and incessant bombing with his copilot. Luckily, we caught on fast and were able to protect the Cobra from theft while staying relatively safe from the bombs. The highlight on Zatar was when one of the 1337th stole our unused Cobra and Duke diligently teamkilled him as he took off thinking we were dumb enough to power it up again.

Thanks also to Evanz0rz for his patience with my piloting on Dalian. I am learning more every time I take to the skies and once he got his eye in, we were a true menace against opposing armour. We had a few good helo battles against Xeil and Cymba as well, but I was clearly outclassed in the piloting department.

Great work by everyone and I look forward to playing with you all again

Ugh, I slapped myself in the head when that happened. Stealing aircraft on TG servers is so far in the back of my brain that I didn't even consider the possibility. I think jep was the victim. Sorry about that buddy, I was a little too eager to rack up another Bom kill.

Re: Karkand2 & Zatar 11/8

Karkand 2 is pretty fun. It was just my second time playing and I spent most of the round armor whoring. Quite hard to do when there's 3 AT guys on roofs that my guns can't reach! I guess last night was my armor night because I played around with APCs and tanks on Karkand as well. Well, it was an unconvential night because I flew on Daqing and Kubra.

The hotel and mosque flags was where I spent most of my time on Karkand 2. They were fun to drive around and I had for the limited amount of time I spent on the ground. The accessibility of all the roofs makes the map that much more interesting to fight in. You get the guys on the ground, but then there's a squad leader 2 roofs over spawning the guys right back in. That's where the tank's ability to blast a rooftop came in handy a time or two -- good thing most of the those roofs have things I can shoot a shell at and get some blast damage.

Knowing what side they were coming in from was huge. Every APC was blinking on our minimaps as well as the infantry that was dropped out on the east, north and south sides. I thought that was the CO doing that, so we appreciated it!

I hope you got a screen shot of that: March of the Lemmings!

Five seconds into the game, an entire squad plus some others marching right off the cliff to their deaths... many of which were teamkills from falling on top of one another.

Perfectly understandable. I mean, who isn't?

We stole the helo a few minutes later.

Somebody did. I survived the fall, picked up 5 kits one by one until I found the medic kit. It was the last kit and could only revive one or two of the guys but we were all laughing over that. Whoever did get that screenie, can ya post it?

Re: Karkand2 & Zatar 11/8

The 1337th attacked the Factory at first and it was a hectic battle for the most part. I believe we got it down, but then it was retaken, but I was already halfway there with 3 people in a buggy and 3 people waiting to spawn. We retook it and kept guard over it. It started to quiet down a bit so Seppy and I went APC whoring. We went and took all of the west side and helped out Sqaud 1 at the airfield (actually..we took the flag while Sqaud 1 was to the north in the hills..not sure what they were hiding from..but they came out after we took it and cleared it).

After that it was still slightly quietly so I had 3 men attack the Natural Gas Station and take it. So we were defending 2 bases and it was slightly quiet. All of a sudden we had people just kept showing up at the Factory. After a while we realized they were coming from the air from a blackhawk REALLY high up. I don't believe they got the USMC flag ALL the way up, but they did get ours down for a brief moment. After about 20 minutes of seeing parachutes flop down and Seppy complaining that "eventually they're going to take this" the blackhawk came circling around. I tried to request airsupport during those 20 minutes, but we had a no mic commander for 15 minutes of that and finally someone stepped in and I believe Duke was making strafing runs at it near the end. Well, the blackhawk went down eventually and then they came back and it went down faster because of airsupport. During this time I had the Gas Station guys attack the Farm, only to fail because it was guarded by 6 people and only Jep was wearing the 1337th tags. Oh..after that attack we had someone drop and we were down to 5 people on the team for almost the rest of the match.

Anyway..I think the blackhawk crew decided to attack Gas station and we repelled them with the help of me running over there in a buggy from Factory. They did cap it once, but we capped it shortly back since I was halfway there again in a buggy. Near the end I had the Leeth charge the center base and we took it and I think the MEC won.

Was a fun match, although I was hopeing for more of an infrantry map to play on, but it still worked to our advantage. Good fun. Best Sqaud.. =P
