Question do we want more forums for AA?

America's Army is finally starting to make a following here at TG... maybe not as much as some other games, but there is a small and dedicated group forming.

My question, would you like to see more forums for the AA game, kinda like other games like BF2 has... for example...

SOP's and Rules/Server info
General Discussion
event planning and tactics
After Action Reviews/discussions

those are just my ideas... feel free to post your own ideas... or if you want to KISS, Keep it simple stupid by keeping just one AA forum then let it be known in the reply.

A special thanks to TURBO, for all that he has done with this AA group, setting up matches, helping newbies, administrating the server, and developing content/post here... without his help and dedication, the AA group of TG may of slipped away.

Yes from me... I would love to see one... The more I play AA the more I like it... It is very realistic in every aspect and it eliminates the common complaints like, bunny hopping, run and gun etc... I am planning on sticking with this stuff for a long time.

Yeah I think it would be a good idea. The more peolpe that join the more difficult it will be to add new forum sections (all the thread moving etc), so maybe we should do it sooner rather than later.

Magnum, I really like it how you always seem to ask the AA players what thier views are on specific decisions that must be made. Nice work, keep it up.

I say keep it simple. There are enoguh forums here that I don't get a chance to read :-( Just my two cents.

I think as the AA community continues to grow we should be ready to accomidate it. Also like Ob1one said it would be easier to do it now before it gets too big. I would like to just thank everyone in the AA-TG community, everyone has made this the best tactical experience I have had anywhere and I am sure it is just going to get better.

Re: do we want more forums for AA?

Extra forums have definitely been a bonus for me running PCS, but isn't the AA community a bit small at present? Certainly as more people start to find their way here, it would be beneficial to seperate things a bit.

I know in most polls we have about 20-25 people vote. The most I have seen online has been 10-12 people. It doesn't seem like alot but you can have fun 3v3 in this game.

2v2 can be pretty tense when you have the right players on the PCS server. I meant small in terms of there aren't that many AA players, so it's not too difficult to keep everything in one forum for now.

Re: do we want more forums for AA?

Maybe go with 2 forums for now, a forum for SOPs, announcements, server info etc and a general forum for everything else.

I think that might be the best bet for now, we can deal with the other forum later down the road. Ill help you migrate them if need be when the time comes.

Re: do we want more forums for AA?

For discussing tactics, how about a private tacticalconflict.com forum. This way we can PM the password to everyone that's participating in the scrim and they'll be able to view the tactics even if they aren't a supporting member.

Re: do we want more forums for AA?

I'm going to discuss this with Apophis, even thou I know he is busy as hell and kinda feel like I'm impeding in his "new life"... some of the changes will be:

Ask for Turbo to be a forum mod for this section

Ask to make an SOP/Rules and GO's forum that will mostly be for the locked threads on instructions for joining and playing AA as a team.

Well keep the general for general talk...

then I'm going to ask how that "Tactical Conflict" site is working, I've joined as an individual but not joined any teams...maybe Turbo and I can start a TC (Tactical Conflict) Team with the current TG AA group.

well thats it, I try and keep it simple, too much work and the game isn't fun anymore... but I want to keep it organized a bit.

feedback is always welcome. Turbo, Vulcan, and I are adminning the server, but I want this gaming group running as a team with feedback and input from the gamers who visit this forum and use our server. Not to much control from the "chiefs" but enough to keep us moving forward, I DON"T want to see this server die like my beloved SWAT4 server did. lol (just some insight in my thoughts on this server and group.)

Re: do we want more forums for AA?

What makes things so great right now is that we are a small group and we all understand what makes our games so fun. There hasn't really been anyone that pushes the envelope, yet. But there does need to be some sort of (semi-flexible) rule system laid out that reflects our playstyle so that newcomers can learn how we like to do things. At the same time, things can become "un-fun" if we get too bogged down in procedure and protocol and rules and regulations.

We can make better use of the Wiki if you want more people to have a say in the way things work and the information that we provide. I think I'm the only one that's put stuff up there so far (mostly stuff copied from the forums, but, still..).

I like the way the rules are setup now. I don't think this game needs 100 rules like BF2 does just because of the way the game was developed.

Ill try to add some things when I have sometime. Ill post up the scrim then we can post up a After Action Report after the scrim. Can you post picture up on the Wiki site, like screenshots etc.? Like Magnum said feedback is key in this community so keep it coming.

I don't know if file uploading is turned on at TacticalWiki so you may need to host the image elsewhere.. But I just tried an externally hosted image and you simply need to paste in the URL of the image -- no special brackets or anything, and the image will be displayed inline.
