OpFor is, like previously stated, Opposing Forces. We use this term for anyone against the USMC since the USMC can be played on all maps. Basically, China and MEC.

Opfor was a team in America's Army. Strangely, I played for several months and was never able to get on that team

OpFor was also a good Half-Life expansion, in which you play one of the military sent in to "clean up" the mess at Black Mesa, including hunting down that pesky Gordon Freeman character. It had a nice CTF multiplayer mode that included the map Winter Wonderland. The map had a snowman that concealed a snark nest, but the snarks were re-skinned to be bomb-toting penguins.

They're not "hypothetically" the PLA, they ARE the PLA. They're also OpFor. It's nota one or the other thing.

I'll have to check it out. I haven't played in quite some time and am probably a couple of patches back. Shoot, I don't even remember the name I used for AA. Either way, I made a helluva VIP.

Apparently, in AA, a player can't be on OpFor; that is, each team is represented as US to the members of that team. I only heard this; has anyone ever played as OpFor on AA?

No matter what team you play for your squadmates are always US.

It sounds really daft but it actually works fine. The enemy appears OpFor ALL THE TIME and friendlies are always US.

To the other team you appear as OpFor all the time.

Its a free game and it rocks and everyone should download and play it.
