Thanks, all!
I'd like to say thanks to everyone for all the help on the AA server tonight. I finally had a full-blown TG experience with AA thanks to ya'll, and it was great. I'll definitely be back for more!

Seriously, though... despite it's 'aging' engine, this game is still superbly executed. Amazing to think that a freely distributed and supported game can have so much depth in terms of TG gameplay. And to think, it's a constanly evolving game, with new content always on the horizon, new features, changes (yay bunny hopping difficulty... sorta... so far so good though), an eventual upgrade to a new engine! (Unreal 4?)... and on and on. Yep... happy that some of my taxes are giving us a great game. Glad you enjoyed your first stint Strag. I look forward to the day when we/ve got a *FULL* server with nuthin but TG.

Re: Thanks, all!
not to take the thread.....2.5 million is the budget for this game...and there are over 6million players.....we only pay .40 for this game....
well only half have completed the basic training.....so roughly .80 cents NUTS

anyway... the next update/version is said to be moving to the newest unreal engine... so it will get better... and they want to make it even more "realistic" as compared to random spawns, random objectives, nade control, and bunny hopping control... I see great things in the future for this "free" game. ![]() |

I saw a posting online for a software testing job in Huntsville, AL for America's Army. To bad they wanted 10 years software testing experience. That might be a cool job :-)

Re: Thanks, all!
What I'd like to see is randomized maps. The biggest problem is that good players know where to go and where they can run to get kills. It's probably not technically possible to implement but it'd be nice if it could be done.

Re: Thanks, all!
And the coolest part, is that it's not just a game. The technologies that the game developers come up with are also used for training in the Army. Maybe Magnum can bug his PR contact for more on that front
![]() The random spawns and random objectives are how they're trying to lessen the impact of people memorizing the maps. I mean, Bridge Crossing with people memorizing what pixel to aim at so they can get a kill is pretty rediculous. You can probably figure out a 203 drop shot on something like Extraction, but you don't know where the other team is, so it's just a waste. |

Re: Thanks, all!
Looking forward to the upgrades. Any future hint of vehicle maps?
