Re: how to revert to original version

What server were you trying to join? If you bought and installed SF, you have to reapply the patch AFTER you install SF

Re: how to revert to original version

OK I guess I will re-load but I am not at all sure why my version is considered old by our server and not the "same" version as others while others plays fine. I did not know other than patches that there were so many versions?????

Re: how to revert to original version

http://bf2.fun-o-matic.org/index.php/Client_MD5

I'm generating sums for 1.12 right now to post to that page.

...Done. Copy the sums from the 1.12 page to a file, and run md5summer on your directory and save to another file. Use your favorite file comparison utility to see if they match.

md5sums are standard in the Linux world for making sure you've got an authentic file and not one with a Trojan slipped in.

Re: how to revert to original version

Ok I am new at using md5summer I assume its a checksum unility program I can down load and compare to my file. The question is what file or files do I sum?

Re: how to revert to original version

Ok I just did a complete install after deleting the entire BF2 load. No go I still get the same failure

" You have an older version than the server"

Anybody have a clue how to fix without using linux tools?

On ohter servers it says that I have a modified version and need to revert back???

All this after the new patch I down loaded from EA site WTF????
