Other's review about TG

Tactical's server is EXCELLENT. And someone has gave a review on the server but i notice a comment by one of the reviewer on other community sites and one of them gave the goods and bads about our server and this is one of the comment.

"A few of the TG-tagged players were big *******s. There seems to be an air of elitism among TG people that inspires them to treat people who enjoy ranked gameplay like lesser players, even though we may be technically better, more mature, and share many common values with TG. I didn't appreciate being called a "retard" for suggesting that TG open a ranked server"

I remember a post on wearing the TG tag. I really wish that we could watch out for those who wear the TG tag but does not play the TG way which means they do not welcome rank players and called non-TG players name. These players should really be asked to remove the tag beacuse they are bringing down TG's reputation.

He might've been referring to last nights game on Daqing where someone with a TG tag (don't remember who) used the retard phrase in a discussion about ranked servers. He was immediately called on it though by others and asked to not misrepresent the tag he was wearing.

It's a shame to have one single persons remarks color the whole community, but I guess it just proves the responsibility that comes with wearing the tag.

YES, he is referring to wednesday night Daqing...after the password was removed and only 8 people showed up (though i did get some much needed attack helo practice!). i remember who it was...he's not a forum regular, and he had a heated argument about unlocked weapons, i believe...

and called the guy a retard for wanted unlocked weapons...is that how you remember it, FALLEN??

Assuming someone wearing the [TG] tag called him a retard, I think his reaction is more than appropriate. We purport to be a community of mature players, and then if someone who's wearing the tag (obviously wearing it wrong, since putting on the TG tag is accepting tp responsibilty to act appropriately) then the guy is rightfully mad. He's swearing, yes, but on that forum it's fine and in real life people swear like crazy. I wouldn't ban him just because he says some people are elitist and look down upon pub servers. That's true. Lots of people won't give them a second glance. It's up to us to prove to him that we're mature players and that whoever called him a retard is not welcome here; we can't do that if we just ban him.

The person writing the negative review is an *******s himself... If you read it from the first time he is one of those forum *******s.... He will be always trying to degrade things insult people, leave negative comment type of guy... I mean look at the way he writes... He thinks he the best player out there...

Anything on the Planetbattlefield forums is useless anyway. I have never seen any useful thread on that site. Anyway, i'd rather not see that type of player on a TG server. We have enough pubbies flooding the BF2 servers as it is without someone like THAT around.

I think I was playing during that round. I was jumping on right after supper expecting a full server and there was about 12 people on.(at 9ET) I think by the end of Daqing we almost hit 30 but things went downhill for the server once the next map hit. Anyway I don't remember either of the nicks involved but I have a vague memory of the convo. It did deal with how TG's server was run and why 'x' and 'y' were not allowed etc. The conversation did get a little heated and perhaps some pubbies vs tg style came up at some point. I would say B's description of this guy was accurate tho. I remember him commenting/complaining about various things happening in the game quite a bit during that round. Does that mean he should be called a retard?...of course not. Just maybe don't go too hard on whoever this new guy wearing the TG tag was. I can understand how words like that could slip out if you are new to the server and dealing with the type of mindset this guy was bringing.

I was on the server during said back and forth.

While I missed the actual name-calling, I did catch the follout immediately afterwards. The player in question who was called said name (and then apparently posted elsewhere about it) was definitely not acting perfectly either.

Most importantly, I think, is that the person who did the name calling was *immediately* called out for it by other folks wearing the TG tag. In fact, the player in question immediately apologized and perhaps (I couldn't tell from the context) even dropped the tag from his nick.

Not passing judgement on anyone, but for me the important thing was the "infraction" was immediately caught and dealt with by the player community. Given how brief it was, and the nature of the general conversation both before and afterwards my two cents would be it was resolved on-server to an onlookers perspective.

Hook me up guys (via PM).

We have had a couple of instances of some elitism on the servers in the past, and it is a horrible thing to behold. Everyone here is equal - the only exception being SM's getting reserved slots. That's it. The guy writing that review has just as much rights to the CO seat, chooper squad, or anything else as myself or even Tempus. Elitism is unacceptable, and we work hard to clamp down on it wherever we see it.

If you see behaviour like this (well anything that is not TG in style or spirit) then just send a quiet PM to one of the admins, and we'll address the problem.
